I am going to take a long 8 month break and come back at Halloween to see the decorated CT pics and then the other holiday pics.

But it is time for me to take a break as some just are just not nice here to put it nicely.

If you look at my few posts they are all either positive about the CT, a FSD question for any Tesla vehicle, or just why I think CT sales (my opinion only) have not taken off like my last post.

But once I start getting not nice messages I just do not need that at all.

To answer a few questions some have had, or suggested, or even questioned me on, here lets go.

Yes I am just a normal older (66+) guy with a wife of 42+ years now. We live in Central Texas on a small ranch.

We raise a few mini horses and foals and I have shared with some a few pictures to prove it to doubters.

Some have said take a test for a week on a CT. My body is not in super shape but I finally found a friend of a friend locally who had a CT and we did a test on what I need to do for getting supplies (Hay, Grain, Bedding) for the mini's each month.
I can fit up to 6 bales of hay and a few grain bags easily in my Maverick Hybrid and can remove them easily either via the back or just reaching over the sides. This was a big consideration on our new vehicle requirement and we were open to any (ICE, Hybrid, or EV) as our Dodge 1 ton was just to hard to get in and out of and remove supplies as health issues came up.
Anyway we loaded as a test four(4) hay bales and a grain bag in his CT after taking out his spare tire. I could not reach over the sides at all due to the angle and from the back even using a hay hook could only get the close ones. I had to get into the bed and with one bad knee and the other one fair shape that is just to much. So that is why I mention if Tesla or any EV maker did a smaller compact truck we would have seriously considered it. No big issue putting in a level 2 charger at all in the garage. I have no idea why any EV maker does not make a smaller truck version as the demand seems to be there as shown by just even the Hybrid Maverick sales over the last few years.

As I have also mentioned in the few CT specific posts, many things like Steer by wire and the raising up and down really seem like nice features. The sound system was very good and was great in the friends CT. We did take a short ride and it was nice but FSD is not for me. I got High Blood pressure and it just made me nervous. If I was to get any Tesla with the driving I do, FSD would not be used much at all at least for the near future.

But after being called a Pinocchio, Idiot, Troll, Liar, and things I will not mention it is time to take a break.

FYI, for some I have shared a few pics of the mini's and to show you we really do raise some I am attaching a pic or two of Beauty and foals.

Take care and I hope you continue to truly enjoy your CT (S) and keep sentry mode on. Lastly if you are in the greater Austin, TX area and you see a blue Maverick driver wave to you and give a thumbs up that just may be me.....

To Gus I hope to meet you one day and we can look at your DeLorean.

Sincerely,

Jack

Wish you wouldn’t. You’re a valued member of this community.
I certainly hope you don’t count me as one of those “not nice” commenters. That was NEVER my intent.
I’m also very grateful for all the cool pics you’ve shared with me that I’ve shared with my kids and they LOVE.
Even if you do decide to leave, please come back as you intend.

I prefer the sails on the bed, sure it is harder to grab from side unless you’re tall but It also holds items in without a thought for straps or bunjee cords vs a truck with low sides. No truck is going to work with everyone but I would think going into entry mode would make loading bales from the back easier. There are several trolls on this site, best of luck.

I don't mean this in a mean way, but seeing as you don't have or want a CT I've always been confused as to why you come to this forum. You're welcome of course, and I've never viewed you as a troll or disturber. I just found it odd. I have no desire to join a Rav4 owners club, for example, or any other vehicle forum that I don't own or have on my radar for purchase.

Ziggi, you'll be missed!

I too live in central Texas (Boerne, Texas area) and my fatheris 77. He regularly works on 3 tracks of land he owns (30, 100, and 500 acres), and he's fully sold on the AWD CT - going to grab a used one within 30 days.

The biggest selling point for him? FSD. He's totally won over by it and can't wait to sit back and enjoy the ride to/from his properties on I-10 (San Antonio to Comfort to Junction, etc.)

His work tools will be stored in an easily accessible fashion using a sliding storage system in the bed and frunk.

He plans to load the alfalfa, chaffhaye, corn, etc. for the deer feeders from the rear of the truck and use a wide lightweight step as a means to get in/out of the bed if need be (rather than reaching over the sides).

We wish you the very best.

Your neighbor, Carson

Rivian R1T would most likely be your best bet. I had one for two years before my CT, and it was a great truck. Best

Sad 😔 to hear about your experience and see you leave. I wish you and your family well. I've never seen a mini as small as Little Pea! Thanks for sharing.

I came here as I truly think the CyberTruck is a remarkable vehicle in many respects and just was curious and had some general questions.

But as I have said it was just not that right fit for us at this point in our life.

Blessing to all here for the thoughts and I will come back in about 8 months to see some of the great Halloween pics and then Thanksgiving and of course Christmas.

Nothing wrong with being a fan and hanging out with other fans. I still check in on the Maverick Owner's Club on occasion for that very reason.

Since Ford isn't making an EV Maverick (yet), if you need a larger truck, consider the CT again and think about it with a Deck tray in the bed to slide those bales out to the rear.

Cheers.

Yeah Tesla is a special case. It brings out everyone. Lovers and haters. Has been like that from the beginning. Rav4 and Toyota are boring.

Addressing a couple of your reasons for not getting a CT:
*Get a trailer, make it EASIER to load/unload!
*FSD - If you have a medical emergency, it can drive you to an ER.
I like driving it, because it's fun. But, FSD is so good now that I find myself using it more than 50% of the time for road trips and just for convenience. It seems to navigate thru the spaghetti intersections in unfamiliar cities very well, being in the correct lane, etc...

Lastly, ignore mean people the same way that we ignore the Blue haired Subaru drivers and Coal rollers. NOT worth the life energy to give 2 snots. I do me.

Sorry you feel the way you do Mr. Ziggs. Always felt you had polite and genuine intentions.

I personally enjoyed what you brought to the forum, and I hope you reconsider your decision.

The real trolls are the hostile ones, you’re just leaving more space on here for them

You're welcome here, sorry you've had some bad experiences because of your choice of vehicle. Cybertruck owners should really know a thing or two about what that feels like.

As an investor and CT owner, I genuinely like hearing authentic perspectives about what Tesla is doing well and where they miss the mark. I've never found you to be a troll, you've sparked some excellent discussions.

There's a wide variety of use cases and preferences, and no vehicle is going to cover all the bases.

I wish you well and do hope you stick around.
