June 2025, tesla was giving away the 2024 Foundation Series AWD, they went fast, and then on June 5th it hit the left over Cyberbeasts, Free Cyberwheels , free white interior, and all of the other FS goodies. along with FREE Power Share, free lifetime supercharging, free FSD, Free Lifetime connectivity, and zero percent financing
Yah, but what did free cover as regards Powershare? Gateway/UWC, install, capability? I though that was the time period when Supercharging replaced the Gateway/UWC package.

I got a $2500 credit to use towards the Power share install with my first truck, and I received the Powershare control box with the second truck

Correct, Powershare Gateway 3V has no place in a Powerwall system.
Thanks! - I guess I'll sell it. Do you think Ebay is the best place to sell it? I'm in the Phoenix area.

The current state of Powershare?

An update was finally released but this is only for folks that got a isolated Universal EV charger and Gateway 3-?, they can now use Powershare correct?

Folks that had/get a system with Powerwall 3 and solar cannot currently use Powershare? I saw someone post that you can switch it manually in the Powerwall 3 but it's the automatic switch over that they're working on???

My current and previous project manager on a solar and Powerwall 3 configuration said that Powershare will be available at some. Is that correct?

I've also seen some posts that say if you have a Powerwall 3 and solar and want to use Powershare that the Universal EV charger is not required. Is that correct?

I noticed on my recent proposal that they had a base EV charger but when I asked the project manager about it they said that that was missed and that they would add the universal wall charger at an extra cost. I now wonder if it's required and maybe that's why the design team didn't include it. Nothing in the quote mentions Powershare though.

This would be my setup with the backup switch. So you don't need the gateway or the universal wall charger in that scenario? So that must be why the design team didn't include it. Is there any other reason to choose the universal wall charger over the other?

Thanks for the info.

Right, if doing full house backup with the Backup Switch, no Gateway is needed. Any 240V EVSE would work, but the UWC has some nice features like J1772 adapter and it supports pass through AC wiring for potential future expansion.

I'll go ahead and pay for the upgraded adapter then. Thanks for the info.

Correct, Powershare Gateway 3V has no place in a Powerwall systen.
Clarification: for whole house backup, PW3 can use a Backup Switch (separate piece of hardware, not built in) at the meter and there is no Gateway.
