Since taking delivery of my Cybertruck I've felt a slight vibration between 55 and 65 mph. It's subtle, but annoying. I've had my CT in to Tesla twice for the matter. The first time I was told to drive a thousand miles and let them know if it persists. The second time they determined that the internal foam in one of the Goodyear tires came loose, so they replaced the tire and claimed I was good to go. BTW, that loose foam really vibrated the truck at 80 mph. But I still feel a slight vibration in the wheel when I hit 55 mph. I'm inclined to schedule another service appointment, but before I do, I wanted to ask current CT owners if this is normal behavior -- possibly due to the A/T tires? -- or something that shouldn't exist. Thanks.

I'm guessing mine is the fairly aggressive (compared to road or A/S tires) tread resonates at that speed.

I brought my AWD Cybertruck in on Monday for slight vibration starting at 40is but really noticeable at 44 and above 70. They told me on Wednesday they could not get it fixed so they asked corporate engineers for help. Yesterday they told me a new front drive unit was ordered because the original one was faulty and they don’t know how to fix it at this time.
I would certainly bring it in.
good luck.

What VIN range are you?

Go back to Tesla and get them to balance your wheels. That is almost always the problem for high speed shakes. It’s a 30 minute fix.

I've made an appointment at my local SC next week to have the 55 to 65 mph vibration checked out. I hope it just needs wheel balancing. I though they rebalanced the wheels when I brought the truck in to fix the strong vibration at 80 mph. They discovered loose foam in one of the tires and replaced the tire. If they balanced all four wheels at that time, then something else is wrong.

Ask them to drive with you. That’s what I did to make sure they experience the same thing I was experiencing.

CG, data point of 1, and only 207 miles on my CT AWD, but I have zero vibration at any speeds. Smooth as can be.

There are several ongoing posts here about this issue. I've been dealing with it since we picked ours up in February, with our latest service center appointment set for mid-July because the Jacksonville, FL service center is horribly overwhelmed and takes months to do anything.

So far it sounds like folks having this issue either needed:

A) Wheels balanced again (service center can do this same day)

B) Foam inside the tire/tires came loose and will continue to throw a wheel/wheels off balance. Solution is new wheels. I'm seeing some have been told that Tesla will only remove the foam, but not replace the tires under warranty, and instead sending them to Goodyear to get the warranty work done (pretty crappy way to treat your customers).

C) Motor issue, and one or both motors need replacing.

In our case, the vibration comes and goes about every half mile while at high speed on a smooth road. Set cruise control and feel the vibrations shake the whole truck, then smooth out by half a mile later, then slowly return again, then go away again.

This leads me to believe our truck's issue may be motor related as at high speeds, I can't picture how the foam would shift around with the forces keeping it pinned to the inner walls of that tire.

Sorry you are having a similar problem! I hope it's problem A!

They did the exact same thing with my CT. It did not fix the vibration. I think it is a bad weld (or some kind of complex non mechanical defect) and air is flowing through some interior space causing the panels to flex. I drove through some strong winds where the doors felt like they were being pulled open. It was very unusual and I have seen a lot of even stronger winds and never felt like the doors were flexing in any other vehicle.

I have a vibration that seems abnormal but it is like a buzzing that you feel in the steering wheel and the floor. It starts around 65 mph (I believe) and just never goes away. It really vibrates so much my hands get fatigued. I’ve put probably 1500 miles of freeway driving on my CT and most of that was between TX and CO so I’ve had a lot of time to ponder this issue. My VIN is ~2100.

Tesla took a look at it and sent it up to engineering and the SC guy told me they replaced the drive unit. However when I just checked my invoice they didn’t document this. And after I took the vehicle back it was still vibrating the same.

But I know I had this conversation with the SC guy and my feeling is they’ve somehow avoided putting it in writing because it might be a known defect that has no current resolution. It seems pretty messed up that they would tell me they replaced a drive unit and then in their notes claim there was no problem. You can see my invoice notes which mentions that they balanced the tires because they were out of spec. Even in my chat history the SC guy does not get into the vibration issue but they held my CT for a whole week waiting for the word from engineering.

My Rivian R1T also had very loud AT tires but this did not result in the same kind of vibration through the floor and the steering wheel. I have a few other late model off road vehicles with large AT tires and they do not buzz through the steering wheel and floor like this.

I’ve scheduled another appointment so we’ll see what happens this time.

My tentative theory based on my experience driving through some strong gusts that caused the doors to feel like they were being pulled open is that some welds holding the panels on either have voids or there might be some areas where the adhesive has failed or also contains voids and air is being pushed into places that it doesn’t belong and that is causing all of the issues. I’m planning to drive another CT to see if it behaves differently.
