Today I installed my @Teslaunch Door Sealing Kit. I decided to write up step-by-step instructions with photos. I did not video the process because it is quite hard to install and video at the same time. Nobody currently available to hold the camera.

Here is my summary and recommendation regarding this door sealing kit:
  • If you want an overall quieter cabin, this kit might not be for you. Here are the before install and after install decibel readings taken at 70mph and read at the center of the cabin:

  • YUP!! Same same! The cabin is still just as loud. HOWEVER, the noise is reduced through the doors (e.g., the vehicles passing you are not as loud). But, most of the noise in the Cybertruck is from the front of the vehicle and the humming of the front engine. This kit obviously does not reduce that noise.
  • Recommendation: If you want an overall reduction of noise in the cabin, this kit will not help. If you want a reduction in noise to the left and right of your vehicle, this kit will help.

If you decide to purchase the kit, here are step-by-step instructions:

  • The kit comes with instructions, 2x front door sealing strips, 2x rear door sealing strips, and 4x adhesion promoter:

Thank you for posting. I had a feeling these sound kits aren’t worth it. One of the stats people look at when comparing cars is cabin noise and I assume Tesla has already done all they can.

These seals affix to the vertical seam along the door edges only (As indicted by OP) other Tesla kits run the entire door edge. I am waiting for something that would also seal gaps between the frunk panels.

1/4" round rubber/foam applied to the gap where the windshield meets the rear roof panel completely removed the wind sound coming from the top for me on highway. Look for it on amazon. 1/4" round is perfect size.

I think its primary use should be to keep dust out. They should include a kit for the rear tailgate as it lets in a bunch of dust into the bed.

The seals might be good for keeping dirt off the inner door shells and unibody areas.
They would likely reduce it. I’d make sure they didn’t seal the lower area of the door so well that water could drain from any cavity that resulted.

When I sealed the gap at the bottom of my tailgate/bed to limit dust entry I made sure there were gaps to allow any water in the bed to drain out.
