Test drove demo Cybertruck as a joke, ordered on the spot

Watching for 0% or a price drop as well. The truck is incredible, it’s just alittle bit out of reach! I think we should watch for the Q2 incentive. I think we may be able to snag one.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say sales will probably be picking up in Q2 as people figure it out. The best deals will probably be this last week of Q1 (unless you want to wait for the cheaper single motor which will probably be out in Q2).

The single motor will be less gutless than my 2010 F-150 with a 4.6L V-8 gasoline engine mated to a six speed automatic transmission. It will run circles around that gutless gas engine (and with smooth pure electric power uninterrupted by awkward shifts).

Don't get me wrong, I'll never buy a single motor Cybertruck, but that's not to say it won't make a great work truck or daily driver. RWD sucks in traditional gasoline pickups but the single motor Cybertruck will be in a different league in terms of traction on slippery surfaces due to the far superior weight distribution of not having a heavy engine up front. The weight is in the battery pack and the rear drive motor, which will apply power to the rear wheels in a far superior manner (the weight shifts rearward under acceleration too). Further, there will not be abrupt shifts of an automatic transmission to instigate the breaking of traction on snow, ice, mud, or wet pavement. Electric motors are just more adept with traction controls and putting the power down without the abrupt cutoff of power caused by the electric traction and stability nannies present in gas trucks.

Further, I would be surprised if the single motor doesn't come equipped with a rear locking differential to get out of tricky situations or climb slippery, uneven hills. Sure, a Dual Motor will be superior, but in most situations requiring more traction the weight is shiftied rearward anyway. RWD gas trucks have everything working against them (and they generally don't come with a rear locking differential due to cost reasons).

Essentially, the Single Motor Cybertruck will be a real value proposition for those who don't want to spend more money. It will even be impressive on normal icy roads as long as not needing to climb steep, icy hills. I have a RWD Model 3, and with studless winter tires on it it is just as safe and almost as fast on snowy/icy surfaces as our AWD Model 3's with the same winter tires. The RWD drives a little looser, and it doesn't accelerate with the same sure-footedness, but under cornering and braking it has basically the same sure-footed behavior. the Single Motor Cybertruck will be very similar in this regard. It will not resemble a RWD ICE pickup at all.

Well something weird happened to me this week. Driving by the mall and saw one of the Tesla Cybertrucks. “Yikes that thing is UGLY”, I thought. What moron would own that thing? But my wife and I were bored so we stopped and did a demo to see how stupid it is because why not, right?

Well, I’m not sure what happened. Perhaps some Elon Musk witchcraft. Idk I blacked out. Anyways Im now one of the morons who owns that thing! Seriously amazing vehicle and I love the look.

Hard to explain but you know once you drive it.

Obviously scary with the recall and crazies but I’m so excited. Massive upgrade over what I’m used to driving.

The truck was on the lot but delivery is scheduled for 3/29 because of the recall. Decided on the 2025 AWD, non-foundation. Wanted a later VIN, I think I got 67kish.

This is almost my story to a T. I had a model S plaid, and heard they had cyber trucks locally for demo drive. I literally went to do it as a joke and bought one the same day, picked it up the next day and haven’t looked back.

I’ve had two vehicles in my life. First was a 2004 titan. Ran it into the ground. Been driving a Nissan frontier for 8 years. No features and I spend my winter mornings revving the engine to get the heat working ?

Same here. I went home to ATL over thanksgiving and got a note to come demo a cybertruck. I had canceled my preorder from day one in 2019 and ate the 1000 bucks after I decided the foundation series wasn’t for me. Regardless, I did it because I was bored and slightly curious. I obviously loved it and I went and wired the money immediately after the drive and picked it up the next day.

I have owned multiple raptors, TRX, and AT4. I had a RHO on order. I canceled the RHO. The CT is the best driving, sportiest truck I have ever owned. I absolutely love it. I love the steer by wire. The truck is so agile and responsive. Mine is a 40,000 VIN and I have had zero issues or recalls until the cantrail deal…but mine are very firmly attached. This is my fourth Tesla and by far the best built one. All my panels line up perfectly. The interior materials are great and so is the build quality. I like it more than my Rivian, and I look forward to every time I drive it.

~5500 miles, 40% of that supercharger and essentially zero degradation as well.

I've owned mine for almost a year and still haven't said "Man that truck looks great". But once you're inside of it you don't have to see the unique outside appearance. It does grow on you though. I think of it as a sports car truck look when its in it's low height setting. Looks even better if you deflate the bags through the service menu(don't do this) though. They really need to add this option as car show mode or something.
