My wife and daughter went to a concert last night in NJ and a kid tried the same thing on her Y - is this common? I’ve had teslas for years and no one has ever tried to open my door before.

most people have absolutely no idea insane amount of people that will touch or otherwise mess with your vehicle when you aren't around to see it personally.

It blew my mind when I first got a Tesla.

We’ve had teslas for better part of 5 years (3,Y,CT) and we’ve never had this. They were out of town and I’m just assuming it’s a regional thing 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've had one guy come up and press the tailgate buttons which triggers a Sentry alert. Same with the door buttons.

I'm going with curiosity over maliciousness but it is strange how many people feel comfortable messing with others vehicles.

I live in a small mostly quiet and keep-to-yourself type of of rural town, and the number of people was staggering. I've had old ladies literally slam their purse on the hood of my Model 3.

The level of ignorance something like that takes is mind blowing.

It's not even ignorance. It's wanton malice.

Ignorance would be "oh, I'm sorry, I mistook your car for my sisters. She is parked one space over and I knew she wouldn't mind".

This was more like "f*** this rich a*****. I'm going to do whatever I want, whenever I want. f*** your personal property".

living in a rural area (my backyard is literally a multi-thousand acre farm) I have heard it all (A guy pulled up next to my 3 a few days after I got it back in '21 and said 'man, it's cool looking, but I like American cars' - I just laughed), but never had anyone touch my 3 or Y - a couple people look in the windows of the CT, and we get the random person taking a selfie standing by it. Only time I've ever had an issue was when I was parked in downtown DC and some punk kid spit on the windshield, but I was expecting that LOL
