Looks like we won't need the V3 gateway to do the backup. I have a V1 gateway with my Powerwalls. So instead they gave a $700 store voucher to use. I used it to order a universal wall connector.

I got the same email! I would think they would give us a bigger credit than $700. Going to call and see why only $700.

The universal wall connector is $620, so it doesn't need to be any more than that.

The gateway is included in the foundation series thats my point. That easily $1800.

Yes good point. I did actually want the gateway too. I could never find a way to contact someone about this though. I went to the service center like 3 times and no one has an idea of who to ask.

It also saved you the installation costs. I wish they would just give us the gateway so we could install it ourselves.

They don't give you anything which is ridiculous as it’s part of the premium for Foundation Series. At least give us something equivalent to that a credit in the same amount for accessories. We paid that gateway installation cost when we did solar and Powerwalls.

I received this same email, and in my opinion this is horseshit. I'd rather have the V3 Gateway and Universal Wall Connector hardware (~$1800 + $620 = $2420) vs. a $700 voucher. So basically a ~$1.7k hit on an already $20k premium. Feels like a bait and switch. I really want the new V3 Gateway as my V1 has lost all cellular connectivity. I'll pay the installation cost.

I'm attempting to contact them now in order to reconcile the difference. Though the email has no contact instructions.

got exactly same email and wondering if we should ask for at least some supercharger credit. FS included both gateway hardware and charger, $700 only covers charger.

Yea you would think it would be closer to $2,000
Since they are giving you a credit for the Tesla shop, and we all know what the prices are like on there surprised it was only $700

Yes that's the same reason I want the V3 gateway. But yes I tried contacting every department I could and never could get someone that really knows anything.

The email says wall connector or universal wall connector. So if I have a wall connector with my v1 gateway and powerwall version 2 (I think) I need nothing ?

As long as your wall connector is 240v and backed up by your gateway, that's my understanding.

I already have a Powerwall and a universal wall connector. On 3/4 I got an email asking for additional info regarding my setup. I just wonder what kind of credit, if any, will I get for already having what‘s needed for PowerShare. I really hope at least they still give me the UWC as I would like to install that for a second EV.

Why did you purchase a Universal Wall Connector with the measly $700 Tesla offered you? I believe all FS Cybertrucks include that item as part of the additional $20K cost. Hopefully Tesla does not require the Universal Wall Connector be shipped to a certified electrician like they do the V3 Gateway?
