The service girl told me yesterday that the window stays, so if true, at least you don’t need to re-tint that either.

My driver side door also does this & rattles at high speed (over 70mph).
It’s a known issue according to Tesla & I’m having it replaced next week after months of waiting & showing up to the last appointment in December to find out they didn’t have a new door yet. What really sucks is the $800 to re-wrap & tint the door which Tesla says they’re not responsible for. I’ll be looking into an insurance rider to cover my wrap like others here have suggested.

Yep it’s only that door, so most likely Tesla will replace the whole door ?
The “door panels.” There is some ambiguity on to what they actually replace. I was told the window stays.

Most likely what they do is they order the door shell so that includes the exterior and the interior shell and then they swap over all the parts like the inner door panels parts like the leather trims and the windows etc

I had the same issue and they had to replace both front doors. Bad structural adhesive holding together a reinforcement bracket.

Talked to the advisor, he said that it is up to me if I want them to replace the driver door or I can just leave it as is until "more permanent solution is found" because:
1. Tesla won't cover wrap expenses
2. They can't guarantee that new door won't develop the same issue.

I send him the link to the bulletin regarding repair done with butyl tape, he said this method isn't recommended anymore and the only solution right now is to replace entire door.

I'll hold as I don't want to wrap the door twice especially after they say it may happen again.

I'll lead with it's a pain in the butt to get to and not for the faint of heart, but if it is indeed the same issue I had, I simply put a piece of felt tape on the inside of the door where that bracket was hitting and I never heard the rattle again. That doesn't replace whatever function that structural bracket was serving, but it will at least make it less embarrassing every time you shut the door. :) I opted to have it fixed on my next service visit (this was probably nine months ago when they were still doing the TSB for it) and it kept it quiet until then.

Does this issue affect the front doors only? Because I have this rattle on the rear door.

I haven’t noticed it on my room doors, most people I see talk about it on the front. I had it on only the passenger front and Tesla is replacing that and my driver door.

The Tampa SC took a look at my door today & said they came up with a fix very recently in their shop involving adding insulation inside the door between the door & panels. This was completed without damaging the door so no need to re-wrap. I’ll pick it up later today & time will tell how permanent this fix is. They did confirm there is no revised door yet so any swaps could be subject to the same problem. I’ll report back if the issue doesn’t seem resolved or reoccurs.
