but not if the roof is covered with solar panels. The drone pics from Texas a year ago showed dark glass on the roof. Maybe both the tonneau and roof are solar.

This project, no matter how complex, seems way too long in the process, with no feedback or positive updates from Tesla...

You're probably right. I don't think this project will ever truly happen. If your reservation number is before 369,420 you should cancel and save yourself the grief.

But this is SO much cooler. Tho equally cool would be 2 or 3 trucks parked at Giga Texas that they made there.

Wonder if these trucks just shipped back from Alaska for cold testing?

2 - what’s going on with this backend? Appears to be a big box underneath messing up departure angle clearance. I’m sure it’s fine, but curious as to why so bulky back there. Could just be the angle. Regardless…lovin it

A few comments:
1. If they are using hardened stainless it can give the panels a bit of a twisting looking distortion. I've certainly seen that difference in the metal coming off rolls of hardened vs non-hardened 300-series.
2. The donut shape in the rear quarter panel looked like a car wheel reflection in one of the videos I saw.
3. If I had mirrors on a truck that size, I'd love them to fold as I approached my garage but it seems like they were added as a stop gap measure to appease the regulatory folks until the rules change. If Elon expects the majority to take them off after purchase, well, why put a bunch of effort into them?
