I received my VIN assignment today, March 27th, but I haven't been provided with a delivery date yet. Upon receiving my VIN, I promptly contacted a call center service representative to inquire about the delivery process. They informed me that a delivery person from the Austin Pond Springs location will reach out to schedule the delivery. However, the estimated delivery date they provided is April 14th, which amounts to approximately 18 days from now. Given that I am located in Austin and the proximity of the Giga factory to the Tesla center, I find this timeline surprisingly long.
I'm hoping that someone within this forum can share their experience and confirm if deliveries typically occur sooner than the advertised timeframe of 18 days. It seems unreasonable for a vehicle that could theoretically be driven from the Giga factory to the Tesla center in less than 30 minutes to take this long for delivery.
On another note, I was informed that Tesla cannot accept a certified check for the final payment due to Texas regulations, as Tesla is not classified as an auto dealer in the state. All the online option will work, plaid and W/T.
