I use the review mirror because it allows me to align landmarks in my garage through the window when backing up. A wide angle view is less precise and makes it harder to park consistently. Yeah I will likely switch to using the cameras going forward, and disable MyQ automatic closing, opening is low risk.

Its really odd that MyQ flashes the lights when you close using the App, but not when a Tesla triggers a close.
The flashing is to let somebody in the garage know that they’re about to be closed in. It’s always been my assumption that when you see a car moving in or out the warning is unnecessary because you’ll know what’s happening (just like you do with a standard clicker) but if somebody uses their phone to close the garage there are no other cues for you to key in on.

I disabled auto close a long time ago for that reason. Auto open is fine but no chance I'm risking their crappy software with the decision to close.

MyQ's crappy software, not Tesla.

Same. I don’t even trust it on my cars that use HomeLink (S and X).

Mine flashes when Tesla triggers the close...every time.
You should confirm that, you can see in my video that mine does not flash. Maybe the CT and Y behave differently? I have not checked that.

I use MyQ with my CB and it has worked flawlessly so far. One question though, I usually get an audible signal when my garage door is being opened and closed. Did yours not give that?

sorry that happened. Mine doesn't auto close until i am well out of the garage, and it doesn't auto close when I am in the garage. I have had a couple times where I had to manually close the door as the gps didn't trigger it. Luckily (?) my garage is too far from the road and too tight to let my Teslas park without me doing it.

and since you asked about the lawyers, its gonna be attributed to driver error. Plus the amount is too small to be able to hire a lawyer to pursue anyway. Car manufacturers will defend their product to their last dime, MyQ would likely do the same here. The kingdom for my defense, not a dime in tribute is the maxim.

the trope of being litigation happy, and especially when the reason is plaintiff human error lol
Yeah, well I represent Employers and insurers and businesses. So I do defense for these kinds of cases I don’t believe in whining I stand on the opposite side.

Most everybody else is criminal. I haven’t seen anybody identify themselves as a plaintiff’s lawyer.

Either way probably plenty of blame to go around here in Pop’s unfortunate case.

It’s not like the brandishing issue where there was nothing to debate.

I would have lots of questions that I need answered before I was able to offer an opinion on who would be at fault. But since @Pops helped me out with my cyber antlers and made my entire holiday season; he can do the wrong as far as I’m concerned!

I'm a Plaintiff's lawyer. It is surprising how many people who say we are too litigious as a society but call me when they feel they have been wronged--i see their social media.

I turn down more cases than I take. Trust me, no defendant wants to see a pro se Plaintiff.

Unfortunately the hallmark of a system that is severely broken if you need to pay for a fair chance in a court of law.
