With the "Foundation Series" badge laser etched in the body panels. They really need to find buyers for every truck that's been made before they can switch to non-foundation. My guess is they have already switched to non-foundation producation and are stockpiling those while they go down the list and sell every Foundation that's been made....that's how I would do it.

You’re saying multiple people pulled the trigger on the $1k deposit and passed on it I guess assuming FS must be done soon?

What are your options? They keep the $1k and hold it for some period of time?
I am one of those. My order was placed on hold until July 1st, which seemed to not be a coincidental date.

Like you, I am also very aware of the fact that if I say "no" to the FS, I may be waiting for at least another year if not more.

Lots of folks here are waiting for sub-$80K Cybertruck, so the demand is definitely there. It's all about pricing now, and Tesla is smart to offer FS to everyone before going back to the queue and start offering the less expensive version.
100%. If you don't want to wait for a year+ you need to jump on a FS truck. There are TONS of people (many of us) who are waiting on the non-FS and the backlog will suddenly go out many months. I plan on FS once they deliver the grey interior.

Are most showrooms letting people go inside the CT now or only select ones? Any in SoCal?
Raleigh is allowing people to get in. No test drives yet.

Yes, that's what I configured and I'm waiting on one. I ordered grey and they gave me a white interior VIN that I rejected (not what I ordered!).
Wooooo , they cant do that .... seriously ... TESLA !!!!

Glad then..... they did not give you rear wheel drive model 3 instead ....

Most likely due to the end of Q2 push. Tesla was hoping you would take the bait. They also get one more “sold” unit off the books.

Yep, no doubt that's what they were trying to do.

It doesn't count until someone actually buys it. A $1k reservation does NOT count as sold.

Right now yes.. I think so many people in front of me are waiting for Non-FS, that if I pass I will wait another 2years for the truck.. and financially the difference isn’t enough per month to deter me.. and I need the utility now. I have a 3 and Y, but family is in a stage where having a truck bed will be sooo nice for our adventures
That’s a smart choice. Anybody in your reservation range will definitely have a long wait. If you don’t want to wait, then it’s better to order now, though it’ll delay non FS for people like me who are early reservation holders (RN11275) ?

Please keep us posted on your FS order. If you get it in a month or so, then I’m confident they will open non FS by end of this year.

At the rate of inflation prices are doubling every 4 years.

You're assuming the invites are going numerically.
They are, largely, being sent out in vague numerical order.

At the rate of inflation prices are doubling every 4 years.
4% annual is not 'doubling every 4 years'. You're thinking like 20% annual inflation - which has not occurred for an entire year this century, let alone four years.

I plan on FS once they deliver the grey interior.
You can order grey now for delivery in August-September.
