They should’ve been seated with a different type of person. Every man type of guys. Workers. farmers.

This is seriously the single largest marketing misstep that Tesla took. They should have held a special event after the original unveil inviting blue-collar youtubers who are experts in their craft to borrow the truck for a few weeks and just make content.

It would have allowed them to make last minute QoL changes, as well as showcase to everyone that the truck is ideal for tradesmen.

But what did they do? They allowed the 'rich and famous' a**holes across the planet MONTHS of exclusive priority over us peons. Put a REALLY sour taste in my mouth for sure.

Before order:
Put in an order when it was released, never looked at specs, never cared what others thought, the design satisfied my inner child. Never owned a tesla before and never wanted one.

After delivery: still don’t care about specs, still don’t care what others think, still satisfying my inner child every drive. 12k miles in and loving it and the dream is fulfilled.

I mean the truck is still the best value for your money you can get. I think sales would be doing well if it wasn't for the political drama. Absolutely nobody wants to be caught dead in this thing anymore because it has been made into an ideological symbol. That's not what any of us signed up for.

It would probably help if prices came down a little, interest rates dropped, EV credits stuck around. But none of those seem likely. I think Tesla and Elon both realized that the cost of production is higher than expected, and that means way more people are priced out.

Might be a good thing in the end. I'm fine with it being a niche vehicle. Makes it more special and valuable.

As for me, I'm living the dream.

I still have an original early reservation and am holding out. Every time I think is a good time to order an unexpected concern gives me pause. You could almost go month to month over the past couple years, and there's been one thing after another. Each time something pops up I decide once this is sorted out then I will buy... and then there's something else. In the end, I'm holding out because I want the truck, but I don't want any hassle, so when that seems to pass (for me) then I'm in.

Ok I will admit it. I put down 1.8 Million pre-orders myself because I had set up an automated mouse clicker program on my computer awaiting the launch and it kept filling in the form repeatedly until I noticed a few days later but by then I had 1.8M on order. I decided to secretly trade those orders for Bitcoin which I then invested in Lithium mines in Madagascar. Any moment now I should make a killing! Oh and the people I sold those orders to, I think they were mostly bots in China trying to get their hands on a Cybertruck. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cybertruck production moved to Shanghai any day now to satisfy local demand in China that due to these bots must be through the roof. Unless tariffs have an effect on this... so now you know...

After 5 years of waiting, I finally took the dive last month and took advantage of the 0% apr. Every day I see the truck it puts a smile on my face. It's still surreal. I test drove Rivian's multiple times over the years, Porsches, Mercedes, bmws, but the Cybertruck was the best of the bunch in my eyes. It's unlike anything else on the road and I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger.

Still, part of me hopes Elon and Tesla double down—bring the CT to market at $55K, sell 500k+ units during its lifetime, and prove that manufacturing excellence can make that future attainable. But time is
The model 3 and y would have to be priced at less than 30k to be equivalent value.

$100 was too cheap. Lots of people made multiple reservations. Probably flippers put down many just in case it became rare which at first it was for a little bit. If the reservation was $1,000 they would have gotten a lot less.

I think the main issue is the EV truck market is pretty weak. No one is doing significant numbers. Rivian sells less and they were out first. Nobody is doing well with them. I think everyone overestimated the market for EV trucks.

And yes 80k is high and there's probably not many 80k vehicles that sell in huge numbers.

I have owned mine since 10 Oct 24. I waited out for the non FS. I have 17K miles on it now and just love it. As for size, my F150 is just as big as the CT, so size should not be a deciding factor. This is like buying the Edsel. failed due to being way before its time. I have no regrets buying this. I wonder what the market will do in the coming months. With all the bad motors and transmissions in the Ford, GM, Toyota, and Ram, I see many of my associates backing away from buying new trucks. sales are down. Maybe the CT will be a good alternative. Price wise, trucks are $60K - $100K anyway
Just my 2 cents.

I’m an early reservation holder, and still hold it. I just couldn’t do the 320 range for the dual motor and ended up in a Sierra EV. Still waiting for Tesla to produce a 440+ range version to convert my reservation one day.

Also agree with many of the other points discussed, the range was just my number one reason by a long shot for not buying.

Side note on these EREV style possible motors(EV+generator). I think it’s a terrible idea, but that’s just me. Give me EV or give me ICE, thats option just creates an overly complicated product that’s likely to have costly issues. I don’t see how that’s much different than buying a hybrid.

"You have to own one to find out....." is my short answer to many that asked why. Love or hate, it's an emotional issue for those that did NOT own one. You will find out really quick who is your real friend or family when you buy one. i got a 25CT for 6 months now and i'm amaze how much joy it brings to our life. It's very cheap for the amount of tech and innovation it has comparing to ICE counter parts. Hope this is my last vehicle purchase for this life time, if something happen i will buy another one....again and again.

Own a 2023 Ferrari 396 GTB and a 2022 Porsche 911 Targa and a Corvette 2025 z06 and a 2006 Chevy HD2500 truck. My cyberbeast is faster than all these cars. It is roomier inside. I never waste time in gas stations. Just plug it in at night, a/c is better than these other cars and the stereo is absolutely the best in any of my cars. Interior room for me at 6’2” and 250 lbs is wonderful- finally a car I fit inside comfortably. I watch YouTube while my wife shops - she does the same when I am in Home Depot. Seats are comfortable. Perfect for bringing home anything I don’t need that I buy at Costco. Smoothly on the road and the self- driving feature really does work and Tesla upgrades the system at least once every month. Navigation system is better than any in these other cars as well. Screen is huge. Drive by wire and rear wheel steering is fantastic. The fact that liberals hate the truck and it annoys them is a huge plus as far as I am concerned. I just honk my newly downloaded air horn which makes them even more annoyed. I think the stainless skin is dumb- I would use aluminum and simply paint the vehicle already. Too hard to keep the raw stainless looking really pretty. I would think painting a steel or aluminum body would be cheaper than the stainless. Goes off road, has various ride heights as well. My wife had a porsche 2023 panamera hybrid that was a wonderful car but she prefers driving the cyberbeast. Did I mention the cameras taking video of lookylous and finally dog mode. My dog loves that she can go with us when we go to restaurants and sleep in the back seat and we watch her on our Tesla app. . I get updates on features all the time and even added features. I used my PowerShare credit to buy the cyber tent a week ago - how much fun is this thing. Grandkids love to sleep in it at home in the driveway. I don’t haul 1,000 of bags of rock in the cyberbeast like I do in my HD2500. - but then my HD2500 rides really rough on the road and needs gasoline and is not as comfortable as the cyberbeast.

I love our cyberbeast foundation and no complaints. Did I mention the really great service from the Tesla service center n my town? The young people working there are very helpful and responded to any small issues I have had and made repairs quickly and cheerfully.

Last - the darn car backs itself into parking spots at Costco — all by itself and same with parallel parking - my wife is in love with this feature. It is always entertaining and is a car with its own brain while my other cars are simply low in and stupid mentally.

I ended up selling the Panamera and lost more on that car than my cyberbeast has depreciated —— I drive the cyberbeast daily - and it is always fun and comfortable and I am always thrilled with all the features. I had to wrap the truck - in the color of my choice- for $4,500 - but I did get the color I wanted. And lots of after market parts and pieces -

Only guys really complaining about the truck and bad mouthing the design are guys that don’t own the vehicle and can’t afford it besides. Jealously is an ugly emotion. Get some counseling for that - or better just buy one already and stop worrying about the money. I paid $350,000 for my Ferrari and honestly From a sports car perspective, the cyberbeast is more fun on the road than the Ferrari. And I am a dedicated petrolhead - or I guess now - a battery head? I expected to get the truck - black mouth it to all my friends and then sell the vehicle. But still here 14,000 miles later. Bought off my $100 deposit. Even buying the car was fun and easy- all on my iPhone! No greasy cars salesman to deal with and their always insulting sales manager.

Love my cyberbeast, my wife loves it, and so does my dog and my friends who are also car nuts change their opinion when the darn car drives itself.

I updated the software in the truck from Paris France recently. Try that in a Ferrari or a Chevy truck.

It keeps the interior to a reset temperature - which is appreciated in the low desert where I live.

Oh yeah - the massive front windshield on a road trip makes it feel like you’re in front of your big screen tv at home -/ glass panel on the roof! Nice front trunk that opens when I walk up to the trunk. Appreciated storage compartment in the bed -/ lights in the bed, hold down strips in the bed. Lowers itself to allow egress and ingress. All the controls are on the screen and easy to find.

Goes into tent mode - leveling itself to the terrain.

Has a 220 and 110 volt plug in the bed.

Rides like a sedan and not like a truck. Trailer hitch included. Opening and closing articulated bed cover. Stereo is incredible- I think mentioned this also.

And the 300 mile range is more than enough. Every morning I wake up to a vehicle with a full charge of 300 miles - wife does not run out of gas any longer.

Doors open on a push button. Motorized glove box with a lock four digit code.

A brilliant car that reinvents many of the characteristics of past vehicles.

And so far - very reliable and no major issues.

That is my experience with this cybertruck ( best).

Best fun is putting my old buddies in the vehicle and then doing launch control and hearing them scream like a scared baby - after I warned them to not get too scared! The blood rushes back in your brain - really not a pleasant sensation. I even like the sound it makes - feels and sounds like a Jetson vehicle.
