Increase the distance between cars to at least 4 car lengths. This helps a lot. There is a setting for Lane departure warning. I keep it off. I used it for 6 years in my Model 3. It wasn't necessary.1000 miles in on my CT (and my first Tesla)
I absolutely love everything about this truck…. EXCEPT…
the “traffic aware” cruise control.
WHY on earth does it just randomly slam on the brakes? Why does it slow down for a yellow flashing light on the side of the road… why OH why is it so bad?
Somebody please tell me it gets better somehow?? I miss my wife's Kia when it comes to cruise control. (Not to mention Lane keep).
looking for some genuine answers here, not some Elon fanboy stuff (no offense). Thanks all!
I've used my CT with these settings and haven't had the urgent braking issue. The truck doesn't stop as fast as a car that weighs half as much so it needs more time to stop.
In my area we have freeways with lots of stop n go traffic. The old sensor version in my M3 would brake for ghosts and brake too late not like a human. I've found the CT to have improved on this part.
