It's a false premise. "Everyone" doesn't want a Foundation Series". Some might prefer it because you can no longer buy FSD, on newer vehicles it's only available as a subscription with no guarantee of pricing as it develops into a fully autonomous vehicle.

I should add, buying a vehicle, any vehicle, is not about being "cool". You will be exactly the same person you were before you bought it. Not understanding this leads towards unhappiness in life.

Don't get me wrong, the Cybertruck has improved the quality of my life in more ways than any vehicle has a right to, but it hasn't made me any more or less "cool" or changed who I am.

I just see so many people show off or brag about buying a used founders edition and didn’t know if I was missing something

Yes, the $62k 2012 Model S First Edition, Founders, Signature or what ever you want to call it. $12k to $15k max today.

Unless you bought it placed it on jacks and sealed it in a metal container, it’s worthless in today value and one day unable to drive and or support Tesla software.

CT Founders will be there someday with today’s advancing tech requirements.

FSD is good example.

Unless you buy a two to three year old you are paying same $99 and not getting full computing power offered.

I'm sure FSD ownership fuels many used Cybertruck sales and all FS units have purchased FSD. The funny thing is that the Cybertruck does not garner the attention it did with the early deliveries (FS). I love that no one cares anymore at least, not in my part of the country. Anecdotally, I believe that more people dislike it than like it.
Again, that works for me.

Gonna miss the rivet on my ‘24, so I’m going to add one to my ‘26. 😁
To be honest now that I think about it that was the first work I had done on the truck by SC.. First reports of pedals flying off .. good times

What percentage of FS trucks have lifetime supercharging?
% wise it’s low because they did that after they burnt through all the serious buyers, they added promo to move what they overbuilt production wise, I didn’t get it so you can bet any vin higher then 29,500, I’d guess around 45-50k vins when it started.

So for me, the free supercharging and lifetime premium connectivity and FSD are only part of the appeal and the desire not to sell or upgrade. They are a little bit of a badge of loyalty honestly.
I bought my second one at a time when Tesla couldn’t sell a face to a Photo Booth because I still believed in the mission and the product despite the Tesla-hate being at its peak and even paid what was clearly a participation tax a second time to do it.
I got a cybertent with my credit and a bunch of accessories I didn’t need but mostly I didn’t do it just because it was a good deal. I did it because I could see the future.
And I’d do it again if I had to , so that makes the foundation series a car that to some extent reflects my personality and choice making.
Buying second hand now though, it makes zero difference in my opinion.

The founders edition wasn’t special because of the truck, there is a bit of prestige in being on of the first to get one(if you where on the forum then, there were a lot of foundation owners complaining that it wasn’t as limited as they wanted). But it came with a lot of stuff. FSD, whole house backup, all the floor mats, universal charger. you probably won’t get any of that on used, so a used foundation, is just a 24 Cybertruck. In my opinion, you don’t even get bragging rights for “I have a foundation”

All Foundation Series Cybertrucks have lifetime FSD. No other Cybertrucks came bundled with lifetime FSD, it was an additional charge either via the few Cyberbeast Luxe packages sold (+$15,000 package) or via outright FSD purchase of $7,000-$8,000. Many non-Foundation buyers opted out of FSD since they figured they could add it later or buy a monthly subscription (if they wanted it at all). Now you can't even by a new Cybertruck with lifetime FSD!

That, in my opinion, is what sets the Foundation Series apart, they all have lifetime FSD (and 8 years of premium connectivity). With how good FSD has become since it was first released on the Cybertruck, that's a pretty big deal. But no, it won't make you "cool".
