The local Chevy dealer has had four Silverado EV WT on the lot for two months. Originally priced at $82k. Now discount and tax credit bring them down to $68,800. 200kw battery with over 400mile tested range and 10k tow. Zero to Sixty in 5.5 sec. larger front storage. Spare tire. Center dash display. 4WD Full Independent suspension on Eight lug rims and floating axles.

Downside -No four wheel steering by wire, Stainless, FSD, Cast unibody frame or adjustable air suspension.

I am a day one reserve and sick of waiting nearly five years while the guy down the street was dumb enough to cough up and extra 20k to jump ahead in line.
That thing is a shitbox. Buy it and see for yourself.
What am I missing?

Queue the whining when you have to charge for longer for those trips, and demanding bigger Level 2 chargers than are cheap to install.

??‍♀

No FSD, no slowly upgrading ADAS, lower efficiency, longer or more expensive charging times...

Crissa, I'm not following. I literally plugged in CT and Sierra on ABRP. You clearly save nearly an hour and two stops with the BAB. How are you losing time charging? I'm struggling to understand.

Also, If your'e taking trips to destinations within 2-3 hours from home you may even do it without public charging. Then you save money because you have enough range to get home and charge with cheaper residential rates.

You're not following because you're assuming optimum performance.

And you're assuming your charging stops are completely dead space.

It's not how it works in the real world.

Okay, so let's say it costs me a half hour of extra time, I'm still ahead by nearly a half hour and two less stops in places I don't want to stop at. I don't know how it is in California, but between Colorado and KY and the states in between I've never had a charging issue. Well, except Taos NM, but with this BAB I probably wouldn't have had to charge there or I could tweak my route. Also, if I had an issue, wouldn't you assume the CT would encounter the same thing thus negating the advantage?

The difference in price between maxed out CT and FSD AWD is about 4k. So we paid 4k to get the truck early…
