You will find that there are haters but the haters hate themselves because they like the truck more than they hate the truck so you won't really hear from them very much. You may also notice that most of the more vocal haters come from the lower economic spectra and people who have any means are able to appreciate that there's something novel and beautiful about this truck.

Here in the Seattle area most people hate Elon for political reasons but they’re too passive to do anything about it except give me the “Zoomer YouTuber exaggerated disgust face” or “middle age man disapproving head shake”. I smile or stare at them neutral faced, depending on my mood that day. Some people take pictures. If they see I noticed them most will smile and wave. If they don’t, I return the favor and take a picture of them.

Kids universally get excited about it. Guess they’re too young to be cynical and told to hate things.

The man with his face in his hands said "Elon is a fascists" the 2 women had no comment to him.
Alas, Elon is fascist-curious, which was a problem with industrialist prior to WWII, Ford and Lindbergh for instance. It's just a thing we should be aware of and wary about.

Hopefully the community here and show the trucks are just good trucks ^-^

I think we have several threads about public reactions to the Cybertruck. Thumbs up, thumbs down, the one finger flip off - all directed toward the CT and driver. I have tried to compile the top ten reasons for the negative reactions. What did I miss?

(My advice is enjoy :giggle: the attention, relish the ride and send back love)

Top 10 Reasons for the hate:

1) They are jealous that you actually OWN one

2) It is simply too ugly to be on the road, its very sight is personally offensive

3) They hate on ELON for what he has done, (doesn't matter-whatever, whoever, whenever and forever)

4) It is not green enough, or it is too green

5) All EV drivers = Liberals

6) Conspicuous $$$ consumption, another rich Ferrari driver, use your money more responsibly, you rich Bastard

7) You are driving too slow in the fast lane, (and yes, there is a SPECIAL HELL for these people!)

8) They actually know a Cybertruck owner, and assume all owners are like that guy.

9) You cut them off two miles back, or another Cybertruck did two weeks ago… they all look alike.

10) It is NOT even about the Cybertruck at all, it IS directed at YOU
I have one and only reason: People are stupid.

Why there is hatred against a car, a brand, a Formula 1 driver, a football club .... ? It can only be explained by the stupidity of human beings. I don't like something for whatever reason, I turn the page, I go on with my life, I don't bother, I don't care.

But no, since we have this stupid smart phones (wich I also use) we think ourselves forced to show everyone and 24/7 our opinion, even if no one cares. The invention of the smart phone is a blessing but mostly a curse. I think we all would be better off without it. Even if we then would have problems with our Teslas.?

I had a middle finger from a F350 on a back road in TN. Middle finger from a small VW SUV in Cincinnati and one thumbs down from someone in a Subaru. But I’ve had at least 100+ thumbs up or just pure joy and excitement. Yesterday, a ~12 year old boy on a scooter ran in to a sign post because he was so excited to see the Cybertruck. Felt sorry for the kid!

I’ve stopped at least a half dozen times for someone just asking to get a quick photo.

bring on the hate! I don’t get it. They must lead sad lives. I could not imagine not liking someone’s car so much that I would ever do that.

I’m sure some people think electric vehicles are going to ruin the United States. Somewhere between it will cause a major electrical grid failure lasting forever to if we don’t use more oil than the rest of the world our country will become weak leading to mass unemployment and a total breakdown in our society.

True. But by outwardly aligning with this group, a person is essentially saying, "Look at me, I'm dumber than a rock." They are too stupid to know they have become the unwitting tools of nefarious forces trying to extend the age of oil for financial gain.

I call them "nefarious forces" because anyone who puts wealth above the health and happiness of humanity cannot be a good person.

Elon has definitely expressed right wing views (which I personally oppose), but not fascist views. Fascism is its own plurality of things. Elon has routinely expressed his support for the power of the individual against the state. It may be fairly described as a nasty type of twisted free market libertarianism. It’s plenty dangerous, but it’s not fascism. Fascism subordinates the individual to the real or symbolic power of state. Generally, this is done through the use of some romantic or mythological identity wherein the identity of the individual is subordinated to some greater authority.

Then I got a cybertruck so I don't need the coffee cup anymore.

FYI,
Here is Elon's comment on his political standing, UNCHANGED.

The fact that he does it in support of a particular group is what makes it so. Individualism isn't opposed to fascism, that's the problem. Anyhow, this isn't the place to discuss this... But just be aware the 'rugged individualist' is a ruse that has been used to align with fascism multiple times through history.

The problem with Elon's diagram is that it says left moved, but... Where did it move, exactly? It's been there for civil rights, individual rights, privacy, and regulation for a hundred years.

??‍♀

The only real change was that the left/right split wasn't Democrats/Republicans. There were Dixiecrats, Teddys, and Eisenhower. It was alot more mixed up a hundred years ago.
