It stinks. I love the truck but it’s so annoying. I had a 6,000 VIN and don’t remember this issue.

worst part it’s them acting like it’s normal.

Mine has that sound too, it’s like someone turns on a valve to let water run. It seems to start when I reach 45-50mph and that’s just driving straight. My truck was made end of Jan 2025

Yes that infuriates me the most. That and them telling me it’s within spec. That’s just a response they give when they don’t want to fix an issue.

My cyber truck has spent 45 days in the Tesla Service center for this issue so far. As of yet they have no source for the noise. The last advanced field tech stated that by adjusting the suspension they were able to address the issue and mentioned it is like wind flowing over a bottle with an open top but I'm not convinced this is wind noise unless it is from a hole under the vehicle as we have applied tape to almost all external surfaces without reducing the noise. They also replaced the windshield and deactivated the front and rear motors to diagnose driveline / motor issues with the noise.

Just wanted to give an update.

I got my truck back from the Service Center about a week ago. That day, they asked me to come in for another ride-along to check on the noise issue. When I arrived, I rode with a tech and the supervisor. Oddly, the noise wasn’t present during the ride. I asked the tech three times what had been done to fix the issue—he didn’t respond until the supervisor finally prompted him. His response: “I have no idea what’s been done to the truck before I got here.”

Back at the center, the supervisor acknowledged the issue was legitimate and said they’ve seen it on 3–4 other trucks and that they have heard the noise on new vehicles as well. But because Tesla hasn’t issued any guidance or alerts, they’re currently classifying it as “normal.” I was asked to fill out a form indicating where the noise occurs and provide more details.

The next day, the sound came back.

I left a negative review in the app, mainly because no one could tell me what had actually been done, and the issue clearly wasn't resolved. About a week later, I got a call from the SC apologizing and offering to take another look. I asked what they planned to do differently, especially since the issue was previously described as “normal.” They couldn’t give me a clear answer—just repeated that their top priority was making sure I was happy with the vehicle.

Right now, I can’t bring the truck back in—I need it. But I’m honestly at a loss. It’s been in service for over 40 days, and I haven’t even owned it for a full year. I’m worried that bringing it back will just lead to it sitting at the SC again with no meaningful fix.

I have the same sound, and I think it's when the mechanical portions of the Regen system are in neutral. Listen closely at the video and watch the Regen indicator on the MCU.

Ask your service center to forward this thread to the engineering team for review. I think they would take great interest since this sound may be a potential design issue.

Unfortunately the latest fix did not address the issue. I am in the process of trying to return the truck as it seems this is a problem that Tesla recognizes exists but does not have a fix for. I believe it could be fixed but they have been unable to identify the root cause. I really love the truck but the noise drives me crazy and gives me buyers remorse each time I hear it.

Are you having to do it through the normal lemon law process?
