If it’s the glass itself then it ought to be able to be replicated with water and a squeegee
It's not the glass. That's just cope from people who don't understand fluid dynamics. The wiper isn't making good contact in the middle there, which causes the water to gather in just that arc. Surface tension then keeps it in that shape rather than let it run down the shallow angle of the windshield

Also, it's important we raise the flag on such issues, bc it could be an ENG oversight that we can eventually get resolved. If enough people have these issues ("minor" or not), it's important that we give our feedback and discontent with such things...that's the only way they could potentially get resolved or addressed.

If I am beta testing an OS or app, I wanna give feedback on issues and possible improvements, that's how we improve things.

"Squeaky wheel gets the grease", no pun intended.
I wonder how many people have an issue with the rear camera being not visible in the rain, a huge puddle, some mud, or whatever. In the rain you’d think that the tonneau cover would be closed and they would have noticed that months ago. Since they have a washer on the front camera, just seems like they would have one on the rear as well.

I’m waiting for my FS VIN and just hoping that when little changes are made they will take care of the early adopters and put the small revisions on our Foundation trucks for 6 months to a year.

But like when the Model 3 came out, soon after they change to better seats and whatever else.
Just hoping the FS isn’t old in a year and the regular trucks with the $7,500 POS rebate have all kinds of revised items that will make people want the new one instead and sell theirs.

But I love the truck so much, I’m rolling the dice on the Foundation Series and will enjoy it to the fullest.

It's true without a question - the earliest adopters pay the most for the least developed products.

IMO, it's worth every cent. Buying a new vehicle is not an investment in anything except the ability to transport people and things, and you can't take either the money or the truck with you. People still saving up for their retirement should definitely question whether they should be spending the money on ANY new vehicle. Those who have more than they need should not let anything stop them from doing what they want.

Ya I totally get it, I would just love to have a rear washer. Monsoons in the desert here are crazy, just driving around a parking lot you can barely see as it is.
And I most definitely don’t have money and should not be buying this truck.
I’m selling my Tesla, sports car, and maybe my motorcycle to help out.
But I’m 56 single no kids, and 100% happy and just saying screw it, and can’t wait for my truck ?

Yea those of us who drive on dirt roads, and use a trailer will need a solution for the rear camera. My guess is it will be a sprayable "solution" from Tesla with the refresh of the CT which will be out soon I would guess.

And why would fluid dynamics suggest that there couldn't be an oily slick across the area? Started in a single spot, but wiper moved it across the glass.

Seems feasible however it seems like there are a lot of people complaining about the same issue in the same spot.

Is there a rock in the windshield wiper? After removing the obvious, definitely go to the manufacturer.

With a new product and unknown materials - like the special glass here - I would definitely report it.

Non issue for me.

Those fan bois who are still making excuses for Tesla that this is minor, Tesla engineering thibks this is serious enough that they have their engineering look into it to solve the problem.

And yes, we should have the highest expectation ls for an asset worth this much.
Every car I've ever had sometimes had windshield streaks. Never was it something I couldn't rectify by cleaning.

Had 5 Toyotas and 2 Hondas. Never had them in any until the rubber blade gets brittle and need to be replaced, after more than a year usually.

How long had the CT been out? Wait, some of them were just out from the lot.

Fan boi excuses, excuses, excuses when this high priced asset developed in 4 long years should be held in the highest standards.

It was difficult to capture a picture but with just a bit of moisture the wiper was trying to sweep the issue seemed a bit more apparent. It seemed to be skipping/hopping across the glass in the area in question creating parallel lines of moisture instead of cleanly sweeping.

I see a number of ppl already said they have the same issue in this thread. I didn't count up but perhaps do a poll? Those who don't have the truck yet, please try your best to not be dismissive or add too much noise as us CT owners track down to see if it's whether it's a one off issue. Something that can easily be rectified. Or if there is an actual design, engineering issue with the extra long arm and the middle hinge point putting uneven pressure.

I have the same issue as the op. Seems exactly the same arc too. Have not raised the alarm yet because I figured I can do a more thorough clean and see if I can get to the bottom of it myself. My initial thought was perhaps the big red bow they had on the truck during delivery left some residue that the wiper picked up.

I first noticed it because it rain the day of my delivery. And the streak made it really hard to view through the windshield at night time with the oncoming headlights. The static photo the OP posted doesn't convey the issue completely. I felt like I had blurry vision. And unfortunately, the streak area is perfectly in my line of sight.

I had to slouch and lower the seat in order to get a better view out of the clean portion of the windshield. Once at home, I did a good clean and even used alcohol at the blurry area. But issue seems to persist.

So I'm kindda glad to see this thread. Because it suggest there is some tuning/adjusting that Tesla may need to do to some CT's wiper since it's not just my truck that seem to have the issue. Time will tell whether this is a more widespread issue or only affect the handful of us who has replied so far on this thread.

Ironically, the rest of the windshield gets clean properly. It's just the driver's vision that is left with blur.
