Taking into account the controversial style, social love, lack of recalls, great fit & finish, no discoloration of bed, FSD, great SC support, ability to power appliances in an emergency, 3rd party accessories support, no maintenance, great range and a lot more: YES!
exactly this! I swear Tesla attracts some of the most dramatic tofu farting dweebs ever!

Would be interesting to do a similar poll, but with a little owner background to see if first-time Tesla owners have different feelings about their purchase than previous owners.

I mean if you've bought a Tesla before, you've already gone thru expectations, disappointment, and pleasant surprises.

I remember the Nov '19 launch event and thinking there was no way they could make a dual for $50k. I mean, one year earlier I had bought a Model 3 LR-AWD that cost me $60k, and it only had a 75kWh battery. The larger battery with premium interior and 2nd motor shows up as $18k extra on my Moroney.

I was just incredulous that they could make a SS truck with everything they showed, that basically matched my Model 3's specs, dual motor, 300+mi range for less money. Even with the new battery cells, I didn't believe it was possible. So, I wasn't too surprised when it didn't happen.

And thinking about the triple motor with 500+mi range, I assumed they'd have to do a double-height battery, right? Sort of like the new roadster, had to have a double-height battery. Could they do it? Would it work? Would it change the ride height? No idea, but if it didn't happen, I wouldn't be all that surprised. That's why I placed 2 orders, one for the triple, and one for the double.

It was just a prototype on stage. Who knows what happens between prototype and production, but there was a lot of crazy ideas announced. I know lots of people are disappointed, but having gone thru it once before, I wasn't completely shocked when some of the prototype ideas didn't make it to production. And of course, some things that weren't announced, did make it to production.

This is fair. I didn’t mean for my earlier post to suggest lack of empathy for anyone not familiar with Tesla. I do think you raise a fair point about perception may be totally different for someone new to Tesla. I stand by the argument that nothing is new here; it’s happened with every model. But fair point.

I like unique vehicles that push limits or challenge conventional design choices. CT does that and I’m willing to tolerate some issues on an early build which is what I have…

If this were year 3-5 and I experienced some of the issues I have, then I’d probably not buy and would have got a new Model S/X instead.

100% yes.

The safety alone is worth my money. No other truck compares.

Then there's the list of other features that are only found together in one vehicle.

I might be driving Cybertrucks for the rest of my life. If I'm blessed enough to have my family outgrow 5 seats, I may reconsider, but we already have a 7 seater Model Y.

You had to go and open that wound! Had kind of forgotten about that, but yeah, total bullshit. ?

No way for us to know that that color was going to be considered base. There’s no other Tesla that has a gray interior option and they certainly knew what they were planning before putting it in the configurator so just inform people— it’s fucking ridiculous.

Would not have changed my choice but I definitely would have demanded a $2000 decrease in my purchase price or something to offset that diminution in value. They probably still owe it to us. I might take steps to rectify this. ?
They drew really odd lines on the base options. It would have made far more sense for white or grey to be a $2,000 option and textile or plastic to be the base. Likewise with tires, AT Cyber or AS Core should have been $3,500 and steel AS the base. I can't imagine there's any significant material cost difference between the options.

i've owned many cars and trucks in my lifetime. The CT makes me happy everytime i'm driving it, it is still cheap for the price of happiness. YES, i will buy another one if something happen to this one....hope nothing will happen to my CT baby.

Yes. I’d buy it again but I’d tell my younger self to wait for free supercharging.
I definitely agree with you! Maybe Tesla should consider giving free Superchargering to those of us that had our Battery Extenders cancelled.

I almost did. I had already put a fair amount of customization work into mine and the deal I could get meant taking a $30k loss. My wife and I talked about it a bunch and in the end decided it wasn’t worth the effort.
I still have a nagging feeling that may have been the wrong choice but that’s what we ultimately decided.
We put a bunch of money into solar just last year too so that made the calculation even more complicated.

Given what you know now (May 2025)…take out the fanboyism…take into account the controversial style, social hatred, recalls, fit & finish, discoloration of bed, FSD updates lagging behind other Teslas, no matrix headlights, no range extender battery, etc.

(Note, i am NOT a hater…please see my previous posts…but just want to list as many negatives as i can think of so to get an accurate answer. And yes, i have been researching A LOT and know that there are MANY positives about CT…but just want to push people to give honest answer.)

What would you tell your younger self if you could travel back in time to when you hit the BUY button? Would you stop yourself from buying? Or not? If Tesla bought back your CT today, then would you buy another again?
In a heartbeat.

When I reserved it was based on features but my expectations were based on my experience driving cars and trucks.

The reality of the Cybertruck blew away my notions of driving and trucks.

I would… but I certainly WOULD NOT join this lame ass club again. People in here are RUDE with nothing better to do than chop posts up and tear members down. It’s despicable and immature. I woild expect much more from a group of adults who share something really cool in common.
Well, welcome to a community of truckers. They do behave ... uhhh ... like truckers ....

This is a great point. Can’t describe the ride and handling on a grid of features. It’s way better than I originally expected upon reservation. Also, I don’t have a long distance towing use case or ultra remote destination use case so any of the changes don’t impact me.
