Hello Everyone,
SO much frustration at being the first to get one of these Trucks, (Including myself). But financially the way Tesla is handling this with only selling the FS first until demand dies done, might be a blessing to those that can wait.
My reservation # 112745198. Close to the top of the list. But, you know, maybe it is for the best that I have not gotten the pre-order email for the FS. I really don't want the FS. So, I would just ignore it anyway. But I would have like to know they followed the reservation # order.
I think waiting will only help me at this point. I can pay down my 2019 M3 a little more and also get the $7500 off when my turn does come up. Unlike a lot of the people out there, I can't afford to sink $100+K into this truck. I am above retirement age and still working strong.
Maybe they will have the kinks out of the truck by the time I am getting the option to configure. Also, maybe the interest rates will come down some. I will have to finance this, and it makes a difference.

Reservations, slow road to level 4-5 FSD, and even pricing a side, I am not thrilled to be a part of Tesla due to the :

1.) BS around the recent disclosure for the suspension parts failure and making people pay for obvious defects.
2.) I encouraged my Mom to get a Tesla and use my referral code. Something got messed up and my Mom missed out on the $500 incentive and I missed out on referral points. My emails to Tesla went no where. I will be pissed about this for a while.
3.) Non transferability for FSD that likely won't work during the lifetime of some of the cars but people paid full price for.

I have zero faith that Tesla will do the right thing for individuals. Massive standardized transaction I get, but Tesla is on the slimy side for profit sake. A little short sided in my book.

I have not been offered the option to order (yet).

i reserved a tri-motor with FSD, I live in Northern California, own an M3 and an MY, own stock, etc. I do not qualify for the IRA. My RN is in the 11302 range. i remain hopeful.

Sure, I am a bit frustrated, but I am really more anxious, and definitely not angry. If you think about it, if Tesla weren’t for the most part taking RNs in order, they wouldn’t be remotely close to most of us - for who knows how long. Maybe them pushing into relatively larger numbers here and there is intended to give others of us hope when so many people are angry and talking about dropping out. I can see it both ways.
It’s very clear they know who the early CT reservationisn’t are as in these messages we are getting to buy while we wait. Seems early reservation holders who have not received invitations to order should hear by Q1. I hope.

This is an interesting thought/observation

But to clarify: it’s not relevant to “early reservations”

My number is earlier than some who have received invites/made orders, and I’ve gotten the “buy a different car while you wait a long time” email

So rather than the observation being about Tesla knowing who has early reservations, it would instead be that they know who will be receiving invites anytime soon vs not

Conjecture, but interesting

The msg is hopeful for some of us, but it could be a boilerplate that was sent to every reservation holder with the embedded caveat that it is only available to early reservation holders. Reading what I have said now seems silly :)

I don't know what to believe anymore. I was full of excitement when the delivery event got here. Especially being such a low reservation holder, I had high hopes that I would get mine before the end of the year or in January at the latest. But Tesla is definitely not interested in the common people that placed orders right away without any doubt of buying the CT. I guess they want to cater to the elite and high rollers that can afford the over $100 K. Forget the devoted Tesla fans that only want and can settle for the DM version. I like the truck and always have, just wanted to get it. But now my hopes are low that that will happen anytime soon. I will have to forgo any invitation for the FS since it is out of my proce range currently.

Actually, what I heard today is 350K delivery in 2024. Considering the early adopters pave the way to a much improved product with a possible lower price tag, I would feel quite optimistic anyway. Tesla has to shift resources to CT in 2024.

here's an example:

at least one RN that has received an invite/order. is an RN that is much later than either yours or mine
the person with that RN is a xwitter cybertruck influencer fanboi with neary an ill word to say about Tesla nor the Cybertruck
just based on this thread you've posted, you not being a xwitter influencer is at least ONE box you don't check
screw that guy ⋔?

Twisted feelings I have. So true and not much I can do to help. After Q1, the number should be more 'toned' to reality.

It's insane. Have two Tesla's, reserved within 30 seconds during event and had a low reservation number. My friend, who was way behind me in reservation number, zero Tesla's and also in Alabama, got a FE invite and I didn't.

Tesla are geniuses when it comes to pissing off their customer base. What a %&*@ run company.
You see, you did not sign up for a "reservation list" you paid $100 to enter a lottery, for a CHANCE to buy a truck at a later date.

Say there are six windows taking orders at Costco for pizza. Sometimes someone in another line gets their pizza before me even though I ordered first! This isn’t exactly fair and it really will make no difference in the long run. But if you are super hungry or in a super hurry, it could be frustrating. You wait and seemingly, a lot of other customers get their pizza before you. You wonder “did they lose my order?” “ are they picking on me?” “I’ve been a Costco card member for years! I shop here all the time! I even own their stock!” But sooner or later, your number is picked, you eat your pizza and move on with your life.

I doubt there is maliciousness on behalf of Costco in this admittedly made up scenario and I doubt there is in how Tesla is managing their ordering. But I can understand the frustration. We have all been hungry for the CT for years.

Everything with me comes down to pizza and zombies. Thanks for listening
Oh! I know that feeling at Costco all too well!
Kinda felt that way here too. Then I realized how I feel doesn’t matter. Now of course a forum is by design a place where folks can air their feelings and concerns… it’s also a place to get ideas and feedback… and a place to seek other points of view to adjust your own thinking.
If the starter of this thread had said “is anyone else mad about this!?!?” he might have gotten the empathy he might have been looking for but it’s hard when you are mad and typing to articulate that you are just asking that question… often that situation just sounds like ranting…which it was… which happens on forums…

I too honestly felt a bit upset, thinking I was early in line but then I realized that I don’t actually matter, that I can’t do anything about it, anyger affect your health, and that anything I wrote would get rebutted/counter argued, dismissed (at least in my upset head). So I stopped reading the forum for a bit just to lessen my “expectations postponed makes the heart sick “ response…

That said… Has anyone explored the idea that even those with confirmed design/orders may get their vehicles randomly? How mad will we be when folks in the middle of nowhere and folks down the street (who got their configure invite in Feb) get their trucks months before those of us who get Dec 29 invites? It doesn’t look like confirmed orders have anything other than expected date ranges listed. That certainly isn’t a promise of order or even definite quarter time frame.

Maybe expecting the worse, hoping for the best is a good mantra….

Getting more anger directed at me for being mad than I had towards Tesla here. So.... yikes community. Lets all together take a breath and chill out eh?
@Green-Mario, I'm in you same situation. Not so happy about the situation. I'm probably going to cancel my order.
