ZERO PUBLIC ROAD TOWING TESTS

I hope someone can quickly shoot this down, but I haven’t seen any reports of towing yet. For something that is supposedly almost complete, the fact that they haven’t done EXTENSIVE towing tests across the country in various terrain, climate, and loads is quite concerning. Most manufacturers have prototypes towing for years before they’re revealed.

I don't know enough to weigh in on whether it's a cause for concern

But I do agree that it's notionally odd that we've never spied a CT towing ... anything at all.

And for a truck, those tests would seem to be every bit as important, and pretty time-consuming to get right, as say winter driving in NZ.

Yes, in fact I’ve taken videos of Fords with manufacturer Michigan planes pulling trailers with heavily camouflaged SUV at flagstaff in 2017. That’s just one example. To not test how this thing reacts to towing, fine tuning the trailer mode, stressing weak spots in frame, motor heat thermal loading, etc, is not good.

I have seen videos of Rivian tow testing in hot climate uphill with Engineers inside looking at their laptops long before first R1T was sold.
