The tailgate opened without someone back there!

Neat.

...Also, did he fall asleep?

the driver was still inside, so he likely opened it. Does make me wonder if there’s a way to lock yourself or someone into the bed. Like with trunks and drinks they have a safety door release. They should have one inside the bed.

Two ways to open tailgate.....one we've seen is on the dash screen.
The other is somewhere in the Vault me thinks.....
ps.If he did fall asleep, his name is Jeff!
Think l'll get a wiggle on.......

Finally something that shows much space there is in the bed itself to sleep.

Its doable, but notice how his head is in the back of the midgate slope, and there really isn't much clearance in height when the vault comes down over the top of him. You wouldn't want to sleep with your head at the tailgate end.

This is another good indication of the goldilocks dimensions of the CT, in that even the bed height is not that much, even though it has those side sails that go up to the roof. The is because overall the CT is low, but the bed sail also starts low because of the low rear roof, and that the tailgate isn't very high. This compresses the volume of the bed to that of a glorified, albeit longer, large station wagon when the vault is closed.

I really dunno how cyberlandr will ever fit anything useful in that bed area, other than something the size of a porta loo. When the seats are folded out to a bed, they would have to stick their feet into the shower to make it work, given the open space between the midgate eave and the tailgate.

Seems like an osha violation....
What would the violation be, tho? There's a safety release, they stayed below 5mph, it was closed and enclosed while he was there so he couldn't fall out or have anything hit him.

For the same reasons, those releases are generally in bright safety colors, with attention-grabbing symbols

we’ve not seen anything like that 🤷🏻‍♂️

FIFY 🤣

the bed height is not that much, even though it has those side sails that go up to the roof. The is because overall the CT is low, but the bed sail also starts low because of the low rear roof, and that the tailgate isn't very high
An F150 bed height is 21.5, floor to top of bed rail.

Based on my measures, the CT bed height at top of sail is ~28.5”, and at tailgate is 19.5”

But subtract from those heights, because they’re before and not counting, the ‘depth’ eaten up by the drop to tonneau track and tonneau thickness

So at front of sails with tonneau closed, an interior height of ~26.5” (5” higher than F150) and at tailgate ~17.5” (4” lower than F150)

So the tonneau cover acts like the windows and has to open slightly when you open the tailgate. Probably puts pressure on tailgate for that seal.

Edit: rewatched and it looks like the tonneau only opens when they come out of the wash so maybe someone manually opened that first.
