No stated range. Total waste of time. Suicide doors are stupid.
But for those of you needing the fold-down midgate...maybe this is the truck for you.
Suicide doors would be a headache in parking spots. I don’t buy extend cabs because of that, just crew cabs for me.

Why? Do you usually get out of more than one door at a time? Doesn't someone always have to wait for the other person to get out and close their door first?

It’s the weird shuffle any time you are adjacent to another car.

Driver gets out, opens driver door, they need to exit to the rear of the truck or squeeze past the open front door and leave it ajar for the passenger to get out. Then the passenger gets out and into a weird box. They have to scooch forward and close the back door, then they can close the front door normally.

As for cargo. How do you empty a shopping cart into the back seat (rain or full bed)? It is a giant pain in the ass. You can’t bring the cart into the weird box with you so you have to grab thing, open back door, place thing, close back door, grab thing…. Etc etc.

This is also why vans quickly adopted sliding doors instead of suicide doors as well. Suicide doors just suck. I don’t think there are any shipping vans with this style door anymore.

Shipping vans don't usually have doors on the side anymore at all.

Nor do they park in ranks while loading if they do.

But fair enough. Just seems like a weird shuffle to get past all the doors anyhow.

Auto-presenting/auto-latching doors would probably solve alot of the issues.

Falcon doors for the WIN!

Also...

I think Ogre meant vans that are currently being shipped to customers. Not vans that are used to ship things.

Almost all vans. When your florist drops off flowers, they do it in a van with sliding doors.

Sprinter vans for cargo or conversions have a slider as well.

Suicide doors parked next to another vehicle even if far enough away that all doors can be fully opened while trying to unload a shopping cart is nearly impossible. If you've had to do it, you understand, if you haven't it's hard to explain.

This issue is that you generally can't open the rear door without the front door being opened. So you have to push the cart past the front hinge of the front door, open the back door, then close the front door (to get to your cart that is blocked by the front door) then unload. Now you can't back the cart out because the suicide door is blocking you, and you may or may not be able to push the cart straight out the front depending on others' parking. So now you have to push the cart forward again to open the front door enough to close the suicide door. Then close the front door to get back to your cart to properly return it to where it belongs, then go back and get in your vehicle like a normal human. (NOTE, this is what you do, if you've done it before and understand what you have to do. If you're doing it for the first time there is a good chance many more steps are involved, anger ensues, and the cart has almost no chance of being properly returned; there is at least a 10% chance this Tetris operation results in a cart of groceries left in the parking lot along with a vehicle with a for sale sign on it.)

They really only work well if you never ever have to park near anything...ever.

Thanks for answering!!! I was going to say, own one and you’ll understand. Long time ago I hated getting my kids out of the back seat when they were in car seats.

Now You Know on YouTube has a good take on this today. It's only a sketch and render and they push it out so far that they hope people will think this is better than the CT and wait. They only talk about cool features that won't make it into the real vehicle for that purpose.

Stelantis doesn't have the technical know how to make an AR heads up display and you can take that prediction to the bank.

It is missing a B pillar and the suicide doors won't be a thing. That is my strong prediction.

And obviously it won't have the range, charging, towing capacity, and acceptation of the CT because OEMs advertise instead of Research and Develop.

Wouldn’t you transfer the shopping cart content to the frunk?
As for suicide doors if they work for people owning Rolls Royce, the rest of us should be able to adapt.
Do you put the kids in there too?

People driving a Rolls Royce don’t park in grocery store parking lots.

Personally I hope they succeed with this truck. But like many here, it does seem like they're expecting to get the same performance as Tesla without the supply chain to buy from. Dodge doesn't make their own parts, that's still true for an EV. Tesla was forced to make their own parts or contract private research and have their parts invented over the last decade. If Dodge thinks they can just go out to the best bidder, assemble this truck, and meet all the specs without it going over budget then I'd be worried about them ending up in a Chevy bolt situation.
