A Cyber SUV would be crazy awesome. I am only getting a truck because it's the only way to get a Cyber*. If they have a Cyber SUV I'd be all over that like flies on sh!t.

I'm sure it would canabilze some Y and X sales, but isn't that the wrong approach to think about this? If you can make a better vehicle cheaper, you should, yes? Otherwise someone else will. You could argue that the 3 and the Y cannibalized some S and X sales but they weren't wrong to build them. Not quite the same, but ultimately the point stands.

Also, it could be positioned like a Defender or other similar vehicles. It's the offroading, rugged lifestyle vehicle that also happens to carry the output of a family who doesn't believe in rubber hats. Some potential Y buyers will opt for it, but many won't because they want a more typical vehicle.

Anyway, I've hoped for years that the Cyber SUV would eventually replace my Cybertruck.

I don't see the point, CT is already both truck and SUV. It seats six and has a ton of enclosed cargo room.

Don’t worry, in 5 years when CAFE regulations are no longer relevant the whole SUV category will cease to exist. Vans and trucks will be the only vehicles we see.

I live in NYC, and the CT is just too big for street parking. An SUV sized like the Highlander is much easier to get into tight spots. Also, I carry alot of surfboards and having an enclosed air conditioned space helps stuff dry, wax from melting, etc. Also I can carry longer surfboards that reach from the front seats to the tailgate that would not fit into a closed CT bed. And the extra room makes it easier to change into wetsuits in the winter.

And sleeping in the back of the SUV is alot more comfortable in extreme weather conditions than in the CT bed or backseat.

A Cyber SUV would be perfect! Model X is not well suited for driving onto sand beaches. Will stick to my Highlander until then they release a Cyber SUV one day. ?

Cybervan? Yes! That’s what I rather have. A van is a pickup truck that has a cover over the load. That makes it secure from people and the elements.
By that definition the CyberTruck is a Van.
A Van is a truck you can't load from the top or sides, can't load anything in larger than the physical size of the enclosure. and get the cops call on you if driving by a playground.

That render is awful, looks like a prototype of a station wagon from the 70's of what they thought the 80's station wagon was going to look like.

^--- This

A highlander-esq SUV would motivate several potential buyers that I know. No idea if the segment is actually worth pursuing. I just know there are people who Tesla have no vehicles for.

The X is too pricey and over complicated. Provide a fairly boxy, practical SUV.

I'm quite happy with my Y, but I do want a Cyber-something... in a couple of years that will probably be the CT, but if there was a CyberSUV, I would choose that. Far more useful for my purposes.

That post was written prior to the Cybertruck being shrunk and losing its sixth seat, an SUV version would make a lot of sense now but as a Toyota Sequoia competitor not Highlander, the Model X is already the size of a Highlander.

Looks great, so much so I don't think Tesla's design studio could do a better rendition of an SUV based on Cybertruck.
