I don’t think that number is correct, but anecdotal on my end as well

no informed buyer was dropping out due to towing - and CT will have nearly the exact same decrease in performance towing, which can be mitigated only by having a larger “fuel tank”

I think few informed buyersdropped out due to ‘winter performance’, which was more of an issue with first-time BEV buyers being unaware of the particularities of BEVs wrt temps

almost no one dealt with price gouging on reserved units (as opposed to dealer units) - and we on the Lightning forum would have heard about it

finally, onlookers have mistakenly made too much of seeing units “for sale” on dealer websites. They were unaware that the ford reservation system has a quirk where an reserved unit that is is between order and delivery automatically show up as being ‘for sale’ on the delivery dealership’s website

that said, there’s no doubt appetite for the Lightning cooled, but driven primarily by two things:

1. price increases (we’ll see where CT lands here), paired with

2. increases loan interest rates, which really strikes at the heart of affordability (and CT will be equally subject to this issue)

notably, lots of the FUD directed towards the Lightning are and will be equally directed at the CT (eg towing performance, affordability if only by interest rates, if not availability of low cost trims, first-time BEV buyers being unfamiliar with BEV quirks, etc.

so with some irony, the CT champions around here who direct FUD at the Lightning are unwittingly digging holes they themselves will be soon defending against

people should be more thoughtful about picking “teams“ so fervently, if their interest is in advancing the uptake of BEVs generally - especially in the truck segment
Sorry, but all your premises seem to counter your main argument.

I'm not sure if I can claim to be "informed buyer" but Ford corporate already texted and e-mailed me for the nth time and I'm still not doing my orders for precisely the same reasons you said are not true/happening.

Damn, those stories of actual F150 Lightning (ex)owners and videos of their screens during their actual trips are not true?

Ford promised price of $69,000 for my trim. When I went to the dealer, it's $115,000. That's not price gouging to you?

Seriously?

Sorry, let me reframe my point and see if it helps clarify what you view as contradictory:

The F150, like the CT, converted many from ICE to BEV for the first time. Like myself. I’ve loved the idea of BEV, but need (want?) a full-sized truck. Now, here’s an option for one.

Accordingly, the Lightning has been subject to many critiques from two camps that need qualification:

First, first-time BEV buyers that don’t appreciate the quirks that are unique to all BEVs: e.g., performance effects of cold weather. Many first time BEV Tesla buyers go through these same learning curves. These folks need only education and acclimatizing.

Second, YouTubers and media outlets that are sensationalists. You yourself appear to reference these as the source of your opinions. And the CT is going to receive its fair share of lumps from these very same infuencer-wannabes. This group I ignore, about any manufacturer, and we all should.

I'm not sure if I can claim to be "informed buyer" but Ford corporate already texted and e-mailed me for the nth time and I'm still not doing my orders for precisely the same reasons you said are not true/happening.

If one of your “reasons” is towing performance, then you’re not an informed buyer. And, the CT isn’t going to perform any differently than the Lightning in this respect, except to the extent the CT offers a larger battery pack and better interstate charging infra.

If one of your “reasons” is cold weather performance, then you’re not an informed buyer. And the CT isn’t going to perform any differently than the Lightning in this respect, except to the extent the CT offers a larger battery pack and better interstate charging infra (and maybe heat pump).

That sort of list goes on.

But rather than acknowledging that the fundamental towing/cold weather performance between the Lightning and CT boil down to the (painfully obvious) differences in battery size and intrastate charging infra, you instead seem to just regurgitate YouTube FUD that is based on sloppy thinking.

If you think you’re waiting on a CT to not experience a >50% reduction in range while towing, you’re going to be disappointed.

If you think you’re waiting on a CT to not experience material reductions in range due to cold weather, you’re going to be disappointed.

To avoid these disappointments, you should focus on the actual, substantive, advantages of the CT in these respects: choose a trim with a far larger battery than any Lightning, and be prepared to stop and recharge at the better Tesla intrastate charge infra.

It's crazy, we got spoiled. My home is less than 3% and both of my Teslas are under 1.25%.
I have an 802 credit score.?

I'll threaten to pay cash for anything above 5%.:devilish:

Same here, mine is 822 at present, but I have enough in savings to pay for mine in cash if needed. Depends on interest rate offered. I seen that Tesla was now offering 3.9% to boost sales on their product vehicles. I hope they offer something like that on the CT

Tesla doesn't offer any financing. Whatever bank (US Bank or Chase, I believe) is offering that.

@cvalue13

My short response is, I don't like the manufacturer of a truck, nor anyone else telling me, how to modify my driving nor change my wintry environment to get the promised performance (or less headaches and issues) with my big-ticket vehicle purchase. It should meet my expectations as shown in it's specs, not the other way around.

And also, after my readings, researches, people telling me I'm not an informed (potential) buyer. My money, my decision -- unless if you are offering to buy it for me in which case, I'll concede that you are better informed.

Yes, I am optimistic that CT will be better as it will be using the same battery tech as Tesla semi that proved itself with the brutal I-80 Donner Pass and I-5 Grapevine routes (yeah, I can read battery-range charts).

Sorry, not short but longish and quick.

This is garbage...is this a joke?
You mean you have not caught on yet?

We are already 3 plus years into this? Some even flunked $100 hard earned dollars into it.:ROFLMAO:
