I do, lol. I'm not going to risk losing my job to please you or the forum. July is a much better "guess" like the comment I replied to stated.
Your statement has little to no risk because if Tesla isn’t running the line by July they probably won’t hit their own timeline. The June statement just made a bunch of us happy, true or not.

Looks like June is a big month for Elon.

Hey BH Fam,

Depending on your zip code and the strength of your sense of smell you might actually be able to sniff out our Burnt Hair assembly line.

That's right, our hair is on fire as we work hard to assemble your bottles. The only thing between you and your new favorite fragrance is a bit of packaging and a mailman.

Burnt Hair: Shipping in June.

Smell you soon,
Burnt Hair Team

I am working a booth at a trade show (Automate) this week and a manufacturing engineer from Tesla that’s been there ten years told me today that they will be starting production of Cybertruck early next month!!!

I know info from employees can maybe not be the most accurate but he sure seemed confident of that fact and I hope he’s right. Anyone else heard anything about when production will begin?

Updated with more details:

The show is called Automate.

Honestly, he actually said “next week” at one point as well. I was just so hesitant to say that right away on this forum cuz it just seemed too good to be true but it sounds like it could totally be the case.

He told me he was heading back to Austin tomorrow to work on it some more. He seemed pretty involved with its manufacturing.

I did ask as well if he knew if it would have a Ford Lightning style frunk and he was not aware of or couldn’t disclose that info

Did you record the interview?? lol

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Just know the start of production happens in fits and spurts. It a painful process and needs a lot of time to ramp to any kind of serious volume.

Still, it's good to hear that things are on track!
This is the flat part of the s curve. But it may be the start

Im really interested in finding out the size of the seats and overall interior volume.
I find the X seats to be ok but they are nowhere near the quality of an F150 Raptor for example and under bolstered for the performance
The problem with heavy bolstering on a daily use car or truck is it makes it difficult to slide in and out of the vehicle. While heavy bolstering is a big plus on a track car, IMO, not really needed for driving on public roads.

My Model 3 actually has a good amount of bolstering, but no one would mistake it for a racing seat. It's actually the most comfortable seat of any car I've ever driven. And that's saying a lot. I hope the Cybertruck seats are just as comfortable and without excessive bolstering. It's intended use is not track driving, although I'm sure we will see Cybertrucks at the track!

Start of production could be as little as establishing VIN numbers and getting plates printed for them. Or finalizing the owners manual. But it's encouraging
A Tesla Owner's Manual is never finalized. It grows and expands with the features and functionality added to your car via OTA updates the longer you own it.

I wonder if Tesla even considered an integrated inverter.
And, if so, what is the additional cost?
All Cybertrucks come with an integrated inverter at no additional cost. Have you been hiding under a rock?

My local dirt track would be fun!
