i have no plans to wrap mine.. but IF I decided to i would want a holographic wrap on it.. preferably a prism effect so the colors change with the angle.
I was thinking I'd paint mine flat olive drab with a roller and stencil a white star on each front door.

Rumor has been that factory wrap will be an option.

Not hard to believe they'd be trying it out.

Plus, more free advertising.
There is no such rumor that has any legs. Elon said that people could have any color they want as long as it is stainless steel but that ‘they’ (not Tesla) could wrap it.

Totally looks fake. Plus, why the F would they wrap it in camo? Everyone knows what the hell that thing is, its not like putting camo on a standard truck and you can't tell which truck it is!
I’m wondering what the insurance company is going to say when some lady plows into one and tells her insurance company she couldn’t see the truck?

min with you here, as far as an OEM offering. I don’t believe there’s any automation of wrapping, and I don’t see Tesla’s manufacturing lines having a bunch of guys named Greg doing wraps with squeegees and heat guns before heading out for delivery. Also not sure how an OEM handles product warranty on wraps

suppose it’s possible, but seems odd.

but I could see Tesla testing out what would happen when customers do wraps. If only so they could decide, from a legal/marketing standpoint, whether at release to say “and you can totally wrap it, it does great” vs “people are of course free to wrap it, but we can’t guarantee that when the wrap is removed there won’t be effects to the stainless that need address”

even that seems an odd line of thinking.

but I’m at a loss for why they would otherwise wrap a CT, like this, now.

Imagine Tesla steel being chipped off by wrap removal.

nah, I mean staining/discoloration/tarnish. The irony of “stainless”: it do be staining

not that it couldn’t be remedied with a refinish of the metal

but that sort of refinish is a bit more involved than what it takes to clean up car paint after a wrap removal
