You when the guy is losing when he tries to pull down the competition instead of touting the merits and superiority of his own product.

This is going to be the standard marketing defense against the CT from the traditional companies. That the CT isn't a "real truck". It will work, to certain buyers. But those buyers probably wouldn't buy it anyway.

I can't wait until the CT is finally out and we can do an objective side-by-side analysis for all the specs/features. If all goes well, then CT will be the leader in all/most of the specs and show the world how "manly" and "a great work truck" it can be.

I mean, just the strong SS exterior of the CT seems alot more "manly" than fiberglass or composite material.

Manliest truck is the one I can work on. There is nothing more girly than having to call for help for every little thing.

Well, hopefully the CT will be reliable and require very little maintenance, so you don't have to have it serviced. I love the photo by the way. :)

Maybe its me, as I am not the traditional PU buyer and don't even like driving them, but I am very interested in the Cybertruck. For me the CT is a multi purpose, radically designed/looking vehicle. That is my type of purchase. I went from a high end wrangler unlimited to a MYP and want to be able to get back on the dunes and 4WD. I cannot do that right now.
I dont think the CT will take sales from traditional PU buying, but will actually help bring in new customers into the broader PU market, that maybe you can say includes the CT.
The broader PU market: traditional/F150, sport/Raptor, EV and traditional/Lightening/Ram REV/Rivian, and then radical/CT. I will move from MYP to CT and maybe the next go around, I take a liking to traditonal EV PU and go for a Lightening. Or Raptor buyers consider the CT. Or Hummer buyers consider the CT. And also movement back. But, from the jump, I don't think a long term F150 buyer will jump all the way to a CT.
Just my opinion.

I think Ford built a truck that is likely more capable and meets the needs of their well long-haul researched options.

Tesla is *milking* the CT as long as they can and not putting out any details just so they can get some headlines and let the forums and articles do guesses.

Lot of goofy show with the CT tailgate as an example. And the goofy windshield wipers. And sloped rear with such awkward dimensions and layout. Yes, I know for the areo (I've posted picts and videos).

Ford was pretty smart in making the Lightning compatible with 100s of options & accessories that are available on the standard ICE Fords. This lets workers, fleets, and hobbyist take advantage of it from day one.

I don't think the CT will be considered a work truck as much as it will be considered a lifestyle truck. That changed the dynamics of its target audience (fleet sales as one example).

.6 kW x2 in rear vs 2.4 kW in front -- "Configured with the top-tier Pro Power Onboard system, the F-150 Lightning can deliver up to 9.6 kilowatts. One circuit serves the sockets in the cabin and the frunk, good for 2.4 kW. Meanwhile, twin inverters in the rear bed deliver 3.6 kW each, and can be ganged up to a single 240V outlet to act as a single 7.2 kW supply if so desired."

2.4 kW @ 120v = 20 A
3.6 kW @ 120v = 30 A
7.2 kW @ 240v = 30 A

Much of the time when people brag or dis others' accomplishments, they are either boldly speaking truth - or they are insecurely blowing smoke. With Jim Farley's recent Cybertruck comments, I believe the latter applies.

With trucks it's not the style (which Jim Farley is alluding to), but rather the performance, driving experience, and what actually gets done with it. One must be careful when they're insecure about the Cybertruck. Many comments will not age well.

Although I have been the beneficiary of that myself, I think that was the byproduct of Ford wanting to put something out there fast not necessarily the main objective of Lighting. That said, I withhold judgement on what is more practical until CT is out. F150 may have been around a long time and there is a lot I like about my Lightning but I am not sure every aspect of it is the most practical. The 20 year old Frontier I got rid of to get it was easier to turn, easier to park, easier to load and unload the bed. MUCH easier to put the Kayaks on the rack. Over all judgment on what is more practical, can only be made when CT is out on actual owner’s hands.

So, I just wanna see if im understanding your post. You think, because the truck was built with. function over form in mind, causing it to be durable and oddly shaped, it will only be a lifestyle vehicle?

You posted a bunch of pictures of stuff the CT will likely be able to do too. Why wouldnt they be able to carry things or plug things in?

I guess im confused. Just because we dont have a bunch of accessories now, doesnt mean we wont. I mean, look at all tesla accessories. That is a huge market. Why would it be different for CT?

And if the CT is cheaper + qualifies for tax incentives. Wouldnt that make it MORE useful?

No, it's things like a ladder, PVC drain pipe stock, lumber, etc. - stuff that "real people use to do real work."

- ÆCIII
those are things lifestyle people use..

Real people only use power tools. If all plugs on the truck arent being used at once, youre not using it like a real worker

Geez, it really sucks to find out that all of us (as CT fans) aren't "real people". I'm going to cry in my pillow now. I hate being fake. ?
