I dont feel a full sized carry on bag fits in that trunk. Couple duffle bags end to end probably, but not large diameter ones.
a golf bag is definitely not fitting in there

Darn auto-focus crap out at the most inopportune time ?
You really think that is unintentional? I strongly believe the vast majority of so-called leaks have been suitably agreed on. They all coincidentally end up not showing the things that Tesla seems keen to hide for now (rear seat in particular).

Not that I’m complaining. Coordinated leaks are better than no leaks ;)

TBO, I don't think this will change the minds of half of the orders out there... sure, maybe one or two... but for the most part I think the truck as a whole with its "next level" tech, will wow-over the rest... that's if it's truly NEXT-LEVEL.

Just think, now your groceries won't be sliding all over the places, they will stay nice and neat in a line like you placed it before going off road through the woods and across the pond to get to your remote island location.

Tesla early frunk design ... with area under the dash ... would have been great on the CT!!
jexUAot.jpg

that is a Model S RWD frunk. the only reason it is not like that now is there are no more RWD model S being made. That space is occupied by a front motor. You could possibly get that kind of tunnel in a Cybertruck IF they even bother making a RWD version. as a group we early reservation holders pretty much voted against such a configuration. I am one of the very few who had a prw-order in on a RWD version.

Is this really the frunk size? It looks so… minuscule. You might be able to fit a tool box in there. Did Tesla completely forget about the frunk, so they could focus on a 6’ bed, while lopping off the front of the vehicle, so it would fit in a garage?! I don’t know about these design decisions. Something doesn’t seem right. People love frunks, especially the novelty of having it on a pickup truck.
At first thought, it is disappointing that the frunk appears to be smaller than what we were hoping for especially compared to the Lightning or RT1. But the small frunk Cybertruck has something that the other Electric trucks don't have and that is a massive lockable storage in the vault.

My perspective is that the frunk will be used for more quick access to smaller items such as groceries but golf clubs, coolers etc will be stored in the vault.

There will also be the sub-vault storage and possibly sub-frunk storage with a drain plug that could turn the frunk into an ice chest. That would be cool.

you’re assuming they were hiding secret/new features

as opposed to, eg, missing or inoperable pieces

you think that is the size of 3/4 of a Lightning Frunk?
Lightning is 400 liters?
Then CT probably closer to 200 or 250 max

If the rumors about shrunk CT from original prototype is true, then that's part of the lost volume, along with extra stuff like heatpump, air suspension and big HEPA filters.
Numbers from competitors.

Ford F150 Lightning EV

The Ford F-150 Lightning's frunk has 14.1 cubic feet (400 L) of space and a 400-pound weight limit. This is the largest frunk of any car in America. The frunk's opening is nearly the width of the F-150 Lightning itself, making it easier to slide stuff into than a conventional trunk.
Here are some things you can fit in the frunk:
  • Golf clubs: Two sets of golf clubs fit easily in the frunk
  • Luggage: Three medium-sized pieces of luggage fit in the frunk
  • Cement: Eight sacks of ready-mix cement fit in the frunk
The frunk's dimensions are roughly 54" wide, 30" deep, and 20"-25" in height.

Converserly, I use my Model X frunk all the time. It is SO so convenient when you pull in the garage and close the door, then you just unload from the front. Side doors are more inconvenient as you have a wall and/or car next them so they don't fully open (or need to open, unpack, close, walk by). Trunk/hatch requires leaving garage door open and then walking by cars with hands full, etc.

You are probably - no, absolutely - right. Hopefully, all the golfers here with reservations will immediately cancel them. The rest of us will be putting that little frunk to use as quickly as possible...

If it's only the size of the hood and that depth down to the bumper it looks like it will be around 350l.
not the size of the hood - subtract ~6-8” from all 4 sides/edges

which is fine, still a perfectly useful ~225ishL
