My takeaway:

- multiple RC Cybertrucks in one place? That is my next milestone!
- I can sit on the frunk and chat and still have a stainless steel awning
- I would like it if the frunk opens and closes automatically - that makes it useful regardless of volume
- there appears to be missing fascia around the tub
- will there be tow hooks on the front?
- the side angle really doesn’t give us enough information on depth or height. The height estimates sound reasonable. Given a 35” wheel this does appear to be both a bit in front of the front of the wheel and a bit past the middle. Maybe 24”?

still great news no matter how you cut it!

Something has to give, so they decided its the frunk.

Everyone has a different use case, I doubt if most potential customers had the larger Frunk as their highest priority.

But they had asked me, push comes to shove, I would have gone the same way.

As a recreational user, I would regret not having the room in the back for tents, BBQ, tables, fishing gear etc, and I would appreciate the spacious cabin and the views from the cockpit.

I think theres enough room at the front to make to do for picnic basket, portable fridge and wifey's wok.
I’d agree, however my use case (contractor) I really wanted to make the front my mobile & secure tool storage and charging hub for my tool battery’s. When the lightning came out I got super excited with their frunk thinking Tesla isn’t going to be one upped there but I guess the design didn’t allow.

Sorry guys for this rant, but I'm tired of the nonsense criticism on this feature, Some people here complaining about the lack of space, you all fail basic geometry, YOU CAN''T CREATE SPACE WHERE THERE IS NONE. Is a short front!!! I would love one you genius explain here how can they make it deeper without compromising the interior space......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

They did it on the Ford Lighting and Chevrolet Silverado EV. Ton of space all around in those.
This is a Tesla fail and they will be raked over the coals for a long time.

The CT essentially has SS going for it and TBD larger windshield view. NACS used to be on the list.

Personally, as a handyman who does quite a bit of construction I'm fine with the smaller frunk. I'll, mostly, be putting my electric hand tools/hand tools up there (tool belt, circular saw, router, batteries, etc.) Anything else (and, anything larger) will go in the back.

Non-work use - I just need to be able to put groceries there. If I can get 6-8 bags of groceries (even if some have to stack on top of others) I'll be fine with that frunk design.
When camping out hunting I'll likely use the drink for gun storage.

I do hope they have some outlets and an air hose fitting! Remote opening would be nice, especially if it were voice command - so, when ones hand are full of groceries it could be opened via voice as one approaches the vehicle).

I mean if the drunk is small that’s unfortunate, but I’m sure the tech features retained will outweigh the loss. Sorry, it’s not that fatalistic.

Yawn!. Well at least they're working on 4 of them. This will drag on to 2025.

Each person is different. I use our frunks all the time. I keep all of my Tesla-specific stuff and my first aid kit in the Model Y frunk. Yesterday I put both of my kiteboarding kites in the Model 3 frunk. I would use them more if they closed automatically like the Model Y tailgate. I love the idea that I can open the CT frunk and I can sit on the opening to put my wetsuit on or take it off.

Perhaps it is all the people who wanted a shorter CT to fit in their garage that are complaining. Turns out they need to store the stuff in the parking space of the garage in the frunk in order to fit the CT in.

It's one or the other. Short truck, small frunk. Long truck, big frunk.

I'm not sure what tech features you are talking about. Perhaps a little better efficiency (R1T has 0.30 Cd already) but for daily drivers that doesn't matter. Some like their UI better but this is all software that others can upgrade. The SS is the saving grace for the CT.

Can anyone spot and signs or clues it will be powered? Not sure what type of gismachey's are needed to power a frunk.

Gismachy is a real technical term used in the trades in NJ
Same as for a tailgate, and that is pretty much standard on every SUV for the past N years. Why Tesla hasn't done it on its frunks (yet) has been a mystery to me.

Multiple companies make Model 3 auto-frunk openers.

Of course, but I want Tesla to do it natively. The very fact that after market folks started putting wireless chargers in Model 3s had to have had an impact on Tesla eventually putting them in all the Tesla vehicles. Having after market driver displays, rear entertainment consoles, powered frunks, etc. I am sure is being paid attention to by Tesla. I just think that with a heavy hood like on the Cybertruck they would hopefully not wait until someone pulls their shoulder to see the light.

Yes, small almost unusable frunk. I say we all cancel our reservations in protest. You first ... :)
