Lol I mean, probably. But the way you wrote it says I have some insider deets myself and know for sure that he's wrong. You holding out on us?
I don’t know much about Teslas plans for delivery event, other than what is obvious (eg that until there’s reliable info to the contrary. they’re delivering essentially advanced RC2s only to insiders who understand ‘the deal’ in getting essentially prototypes)

But I know enough about what they’re currently building at the time of all these transports (eg not RC2s) etc to know that this blob of xwitter impression farming is way off in most spots, and too generous in others

None of it sounds like too much of a stretch to believe. If tri motor is first and in mid 70s, dual may make it to affordable territory but it may require longer wait. We should know soon, what is true.

I will be just trilled if I catch one of them in a parking lot near me regardless of what else is true or not.
Elon's got eyes... he sees what's goin on. I don't think he will go price crazy when he and everyone else are dropping price points. His reveal said " affordable ". I don't believe he will go back on that.

There was a lower trim stripped down CT spotted that I believe everyone can afford. In true Tesla fashion anything that was not absolutely necessary was eliminated.

Given how fast charging happens these days, I think 350 miles is a solid offering. More is always merrier, if you're willing to pay for the bigger battery and dont mind the additional weight, but my Model 3 has never been able to go that far and it still seems like it can just drive and drive and drive. When I do need to stop for a quick charge, I'm ready to have a breather and that's all the longer the charge takes. Most motorists go months without driving 350 miles in one day.

I decided early on I wanted a lighter Cybertruck with less range, and a heavier one with the biggest battery for exploring rural backroads south of the Canadian Border, a strip with low population density and low Supercharger density. The amount of range you need really depends upon the density of the Supercharger Network. In the future I expect 200-mile EV's to gain popularity due to their lower cost.
For me personally, if it was a typical OEM 350 miles I would be okay (the Rivian 352 dual motor, for example), but a Tesla 350 = 320 for a typical OEM (5 cycle vs 2 cycle test etc. all well known and documented). So Tesla has a higher bar for me because of its practice of using very optimistic testing protocols.

... from Spotted_Model on fka Twitter

I've gotten lots of flack for the "MINDBLOWING" post I made earlier today with lots of people challenging me or saying I'm just engagement farming. In truth, although those who follow me know I sometimes post funny, sarcastic satirical humor (making fun of everything including the obsession we have with Tesla), my insider info today was completely real, heard 1st-hand from an influencer I know who was sharing what he knew (he's excited too). It told him I wouldn't reveal my source and I won't. So let me share what I'm comfortable with posting without getting anybody in trouble (note - a couple of these come from different sources I'm aggregating, and a couple of these come from putting 2 and 2 together myself based on what I've seen and heard):
  • 1. They're making about 10 Cybertrucks a day. These are obviously made with a combination of assembly line and hand-built techniques as they should be.
  • 2. Most of these trucks are being put on car carriers to be distributed not to all Tesla stores, but to a few hand-picked based on several factors (geography, demand, and visibility).
  • 3. The trucks aren't covered during transport. This helps generate so much free marketing it's worth the chance of a small rock chip etc. that can be fixed locally. These trucks are arriving at the designated SCs and are unloading behind closed doors late at night.
  • 4. A livestreamed "delivery event" will take place in Austin. But this one is different. Either during the event or right after, SCs all over the country will simultaneously deliver the 5 or 6 trucks they've been allocated.
  • 5. Who gets them? The first 5 chosen are NOT based on reservation numbers. We all know that some customers "rank" higher at Tesla than others (as they should - just like any high-end brand). Tesla has already determined the first few customers based on many factors.
  • 6. These first builds are all the same high-end configuration. You've seen pics and videos of these trucks on the road. Potential receivers were all contacted already asking if they'd like to take delivery.
  • 7. Customers have NOT been asked yet to sign an NDA yet. It's not clear whether or not they will, covering things like build issues or video restrictions.
  • 8. They've also not been given the final build price, but they've been told it'll be mid to high 70s.
  • 9. They've also been told deliveries will occur in the next 3-4 weeks and to begin making preparations.
  • 10. And I'm making this assumption myself - all trucks delivered will be silver LOL.
Like I said, I believe my sources here. I think the info is mostly correct. And we'll see in a few weeks. If I'm wrong, I'll tell you I'm wrong. But I have a good feeling about the authenticity. I won't share screen shots or names but trust it was a convo. Thanks for reading!
you forgot to mention that it would be livestreamed on X

Oh shit, better hop through the screen and stop it then! In all seriousness though, i think this tire had more control of the vehicle than 90% of the drivers out here..

having a CT at every SC would bring in a lot of foot traffic and spill over to other available models, a smart move.

Need a poll on this one.

Would laugh at the outrageous situation in front of me

Would do nothing because being shocked, amazed or finding it funny would show I am not a good human

Would be horrified and try to take the wheel out with my vehicle

Would quietly reach for my popcorn and privately watch the outcome

setting aside what I said before, just consider what this guy is claiming. his claims about Tesla's "plans" for the delivery event being a big surprise hinge on the plausibility of two main claims:

  • These trucks are arriving at the designated SCs and are unloading behind closed doors late at night. ... SCs all over the country will simultaneously deliver the 5 or 6 trucks they've been allocated ... deliveries will occur in the next 3-4 weeks

  • Potential receivers were all contacted already asking if they'd like to take delivery. Customers have NOT been asked yet to sign an NDA yet. It's not clear whether or not they will, covering things like build issues or video restrictions.
Tesla's plan for a big surprise turns on the expectation that it can hide for weeks dozens of CTs in service centers across the country, together with a pinky swear from an equal number of non-insider buyers

If the above, reflected upon for any moment, isn't enough to write off these 'rumors' ...

Meanwhile, basic familiarity with this portion of the pre-production phase should close remaining doubt. There's no mystery to why Tesla is shipping dozens of RC1 units around the country, but mostly to Fremont.

I find it interesting that Elon tweeted a pick of the Cybertruck production candidate with a potential Highland Model 3. It seems like Highland may be released around the same time. It also seems like Highland may be cheaper to build, with potentially higher margins. This has me thinking they are going to use the Dramatic back log of Cybertruck, to push out their newest, cheapest, highest margin offering, as a hold over, until your Cybertruck arrives in half a decade. Need a new car now, while you wait for Cybertruck, how about a Model # for $30K before incentives.
Model 3 sales are lower than Model Y, so it beggs the question, why would it get the redesign first? The only logical reason is to create the lowest cost highest margin offering available, for people that really want something else, and this is just a temporary car.

People do get killed. 43,000 traffic related fatality in U.S. last year. Survivors should laugh while they can because it will be their turn soon.

p.s. I am guessing you are not here because you are planning to move to a small town in Europe and commute with bicycle. We are all here to add to those stats with our CTs.
