I drive for Mecum Auctions and what I have noticed watching this activity is sometimes the first production VIN goes to well-heeled insiders of the brand and/or is auctioned off with proceeds going to charity.

If this CT is in that category, that amount of money is not out of line with what I have seen. In fact, it's on the low side for what the CT will be.

I visited the Peterson Museum to see the concept in person. It’s radical!

and I assume it’s first retail delivery batch as opposed to the insider delivery event

since they haven’t announced either delivery date, folks were really bidding pretty blind on when they’d get the unit other than say “soon”
