That’s not really off-road! Any passenger vehicle could drive there easily.
And it looks like one did. I think that the white car was some kind of passenger vehicle....

So true. You can tell the people whose main purpose here is to shit on Tesla and the Cybertruck by seeing who shits on the Cybertuck simply because a video exists of it driving on a dirt road.

I haven't driven a Rivian but I'm pretty disappointed in the hard-surface traction I've seen in several videos. I wonder if the Youtubers just don't know how to adjust the traction settings, or if Rivian just hasn't got around to optimizing the off-road traction controls yet. The videos make it obvious that, even on the four motor versions, the motors are sending only limited torque to the loaded wheels, much like a limited slip differential.
I've had my R1S out a couple times now (in places my Subaru could never have even dreamed of going) and am very happy with off-road performance. I just got back from LaDee Flats OHV in Oregon - no issues with traction and it was rather muddy, even did well on steep clay ruts. I think you are right though, the weakness of the Rivian will be traction (lack of lockers or a simulation of them) and weight. But so far I'm extremely happy with its off-road capability. Rivians are capable of more than most people will ever use them for. CT will also be far more capable than most people will ever use them for. Some of the people who have had their Rivians since last year and have seriously off-roaded them, were very happy with the improved traction management has gotten better during their ownership period. I'm guessing that reviews from a year ago are of limited value to today's Rivian, somewhat like the improvements in my Model S over the years have been substantial. I will be very curious to see how Tesla designs the CT and if they go with elockers or even physical lockers.
