Wow, the images aren't perfectly clear, but last time I think I saw a floor mounted (hinged at the back) accelerator pedal, was on my elementary school bus! :D

The problem with that layout is you have a LED line shining in your eyes all the time. The Model 3 Highland has the same problem. I hope they get round to implementing a way to dim the light all the way, or to only have the side lines. On the M3 it basically needs to be turned off to avoid being dazzled.

These types of lights should be done through reflection rather than direct LED strips. But obviously that doesn’t appeal enough to those who want cheap tuning style…
Yeah, as much as it looks cool at first I think the novelty will wear off pretty fast. One of the early reviewers of the refreshed Model 3 also said the LED ambient light reflects off of the windshield, which they said was annoying.

Do we like the floor mounted accelerator?
I could not have cared less...never occurred to me. On one hand, I have to fiddle around to clean the floor, on the other hand, feels a little retro, I liked the touch of a floor-mounted accelerator.

I'm hoping there will eventually be car notifications that are translated through various colors and flashes.

It’s possible, but they have sooooooo many CT1s to build first. Look at how long it took them to update the Model 3, which came out in 2017 (6 years ago). At that rate the CT2 will come out in 2030.

Surely it's dimmable?

It's not a big deal, because it's completely vertical and back close to the driver. Believe me or not, but the CT pillar design is fantastic for visibility. The pillar that's a problem is the actual primary a-pillar, because it's on a diagonal. That's where you look pulling out in to traffic, etc. My Challenger has a super thick pillar there and it can swallow a motorcycle. The CT's, in contrast, is very thin, working in combo with the second A pillar (the thick one). This will make for outstanding outward visibility. It will be very difficult for the fully vertical second A pillar to block both of your eyes and anything you wouldn't see in the right window anyway.
