There's no EV truck out there getting a full 500 miles of range.

It's also not relevant to compare ICE range to EV range when ICE ranges costs four to five times more per mile. Would you really rather have an extra 150 miles of range in an ICE truck if it costs you an extra $55 or $60 dollars every time you filled up, compared to a recharge of an EV truck?

Cybertruck will most likely cost $15 - 20 dollars for each recharge. An ICE truck will cost $75 dollars to fill up. About 4.5 cents per mile versus 20 cents per mile.

I'd rather have only 320 miles of range versus paying four times more each time I filled up.

So range comparisons of ICE versus EV are barely relevant.

Say what????
RIvian R1T dual motor $73K plust $6k for 300-340 mile range aka Large battery pack. So Rivian in this config is basically same range and same price as dual motor Cybertruck.

Cybertruck Dual motor $79,990 less $7,500 federal tax credit point of sale 1/1/2024 onwards = $72,490. Minus $5,000 Colorado tax credit = $67,490. Same tax credits for Rivian R1T if you do not add any options, other than "large" battery. Note no current production timeline for Rivian wiht "standard" battery.

There were enough hints dropped by a few folks that the range wouldn't be that high, so I'm not surprised about the 300+ mile range.

What i am shocked about is the insane price increase. Like WTF?!

I mean I will still likely get the tri-motor Beast version but $100K USD is a hard pill to swallow for what I consider a beta version. Maybe I'll wait until 2025 to get one.

I've seen a lot of postings recently from members that haven't been regulars on the forum much over the past couple years, and I've been looking at it almost daily. There's usually been about a hundred or so members online but recently that's doubled with many members not seen regularly at all. I've also noticed more posts from members who've joined only recently or in the past few months.

That would suggest that some recent activity is agenda driven versus continual interaction or regular participation. We knew that many would come out of the 'woodwork' right after the Cybertruck launch, as losing stakeholders will have a serious problem if Tesla can sell a lot of Cybertrucks.

No one is getting any younger, but Tesla's acceleration never 'gets old' to me. After five years owning a Model 3, I still look forward to it every day.

I wasn't really unhappy with anything. Was pretty awesome. Disappointed they didn't meet original claims on trimotor price and range. But I kind of always thought that was optimistic on the price side, especially after mega inflation hit. A big portion of the price increase is just exploiting the EV credit, which is what all companies do. Disappointed in the lack of 6th seat, but we knew that wasn't going to be a launch item. I like the slightly smaller size, drive by wire, 4WS, etc that came in its place. Moderately happy with the over 300 miles of range, and relieved about the range extender which I'd mostly want for winter. Want more details. I never needed the full 500 miles of range, but a comfortable 400+ would remove fear of getting somewhere when absolutely needed in the absolute worst conditions I might encounter here. I'm happy for those that wanted the Single motor that it's still on the table.

Are you that insecure? I don't care if ANYONE knows what I spent or what I have! Unless those little kids are paying for me to drive the car, their opinion and/or knowledge means absolutely NOTHING to me. Zilch, nada, zero. I'm likely to do a full 3.0 seconds getting on the freeway. If it looks clear, I might even do 3.2 or 3.5 seconds. Why? For the exact same reason a dog licks himself, BECAUSE HE CAN! I ain't spending this money to impress none of them. I'm doing it to entertain ME.

I have a T-Shirt that says "Once you no longer care what other people think, only then are you truly free."

I'm free.
