A bed for the spare in a pickup is not an outlandish idea. It’s been done quite a bit with off-roading vehicles and trucks.
Every truck I've ever owned has had a full sized spare under the bed, so my bed is always empty. I could understand if they included run-flat tires, but flats happen and in my opinion it's always better to have a spare with you all the time.

I take my truck to industrial / construction areas full of nails and other sharp items almost daily, so that full sized spare gets used at least a couple of times each year.

I got one as well.

Chevy sending a "don't forget about the Silverado! (That you can't buy yet and the way things are going for the Ultium platform, won't be for a long long long time)" email was bad enough.

This one was straight up poor taste on Tesla's part, though.
I got the email from Tesla (2nd year reservation). Also Silverado ev reservation reminder followed by KIA EV9 reservation request emails. All their competitors were watching and laughing. Chomping at the bit to steal customers. Honestly not hard after that.

This is a perfect encapsulation of the epic fail that is Elon/CT marketing:

Promise:
Tesla Cybertruck Email received: Cybertruck reservation holders asked to buy something else "while you wait"? Tesla-Cybertruck-bed

Deliver:
https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-tailgate-ramp

Promise:
In-bed air compressor for tools

Deliver:
https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-air-compressor-ultra-_-tire-repair-kit

Why would anyone want to purchase stylized products of existing products that are much cheaper and made by companies who have been making them for decades vs the ones being made very transparently to just barely claim you delivered what you promised?!

Result:
Pay a premium for a crap stylized version of an existing product that costs 3x less! All for the warm and fuzzy feeling that you love Elon and Elon loves you!

Grifters gonna grift. Like I've said before regarding him.

I would say, without looking too much into this, that if you have a low res that you simply ignore this email. Higher res, like me, I am thinking of replacing my main commuter, or opting out of CT entirely and getting the Tesla mid range vehicle, and revisit the CT in a few years.

I have to say I did not expect Tesla to allow the CT to be their flagship vehicle.

Got email yesterday. Mine is 3rd day reservation. Tesla has enough margins to play around with pricing, when the demand subsides. Tesla could have easily incorporated a 150KWH battery and had a range of around 400 miles.

Received. The real slap in the face is the 30 day offer limit.

But to me CT is NOT a work truck.

It is more like a family utility truck.

I got the same email, RN112746xxx, I'd really like an email saying what month (heck, quarter) they intend to deliver. I'd also like to upgrade my order, and still no official word on whether that will be allowed.

Unfortunately, this is an industry trend. Most cars today no longer have spare tires to keep the weight down. I had to call AAA a while back when my old Mustang had a flat. That felt strange to me because I grew up in an era where we changed our own flat tires on our own.

As I get closer to 60, I'm less enthusiastic about changing my own tires anyway, but it's definitely a lot easier even if you call AAA for roadside assistance because if you call them without any spare tire, they need to tow you to a tire shop instead of changing to your spare.

For what it's worth, my F-150 Lightning still has a spare and I've not needed it yet and if the CT doesn't have a way to store it underneath, there is no way I'll keep the spare in the bed. I use my bed often.

This is a bit different.

1. Rivian didn't increase the price as much as Tesla did. I don't have exact numbers but IIRC Rivian was a 20%-25% increase. Tesla just dropped ~50%-66% increases.
2. Rivian was not as established back then so that price increase had a more dramatic effect on a less stable customer base. Tesla could have doubled the price and people would still buy it.

Hey, How is the ride quality and acceleration of your F150 Lightning?
I gave up on the Cybertruck with that ridiculous price and got a test drive setup for Monday.

I added another recently to my work fleet so that makes 11 total (got it from a friend who moved overseas suddenly for work).

We absolutely love the Lightning Pro. Its easy to fit 5 construction guys inside, the frunk is massively beneficial and everything that normally fits a half ton truck drops right in. The one I added is pretty loaded and although not quite as soft over bigger bumps as rivian, it rides as good as anyone could reasonably expect a half ton truck to ride.
