I've said many times, there will be eough people paying regardless and Tesla knows it very well. The problem is, Tesla is not to be Ferrari, not Porsche, not lamborghini; it's supposed to be the EV disrupter replacing Toyota, selling tens of millions of corolla, Camry and 4runner vehicles. That's what would make it the new leader. It's the mass buyers, who buy corolla, Camry, 4runner vehicles, to make Tesla really successful. Those Ferrari, Porsche, lamborghini or Hummer EV buyers who as individuals having way fatter wallets than the mass, are irreleveant in the long run business wise. From this perspective, Tesla indeed failed yesterday.
I believe Elon knows and he is in his demon mood as we speak. Not a word about price or range.
The whole Tesla spec page avoids mentioning single, dual or tri motor. The reason is simple:
to confuse new buyers; to make it vague; and basically saying, just stop comparing apple to apple! Just stop it please!
Many people haven't even realized it yet but It's a serious setback for its business strategies, let alone its "Mission Statement".
