Yes and no, Tesla's own website says "Est." on each configuration price point.

Not saying it'll drop anytime soon, or whether these are just founder series prices or what not - but the price will in fact go down. This is pretty text book Tesla. Little higher than we all hoped/ thought.. BUT!

because they havent begun retail production or retail sales.

if you're a company that don't know when that those retail sales will begin, and/or you want to avoid creating the appearance of having begun retail sales, you don't post a price absent "Est."



could Tesla reduce the retail pricing before they begin retail sales? Sure. Just as easily as the could increase them. Or any number of things that are at the whim of Musk to change last-minute.




honestly, the xwitter cope is so wild to move from "i can't believe these MSRPs" to "don't worry everyone, this is probably all a trick of some sort, good one, Tesla!" is really mind-blowing

I feel like all there trying to do is make the inflated price of the all-wheel drive and the Beast to not seem so bad and like the 2021 Bronco 1st edition in a few years they won't be Worth the extra $$$ anyway.

Also, I am thinking that yes it will put us all back another 1000 trucks in line too.

There is also a "Foundation series" printed on the verticle portion of the dashboard. I dont have a photo of it but it is on the passenger side.

The 20k price jump for the foundation is crazy. Definitely just a premium to get the truck sooner, without any added value at all relative to the Cyberbeast.

One may argue that these might be 'collectable' in the future, but Model S Founder's Series models (even the first 10!) don't fetch any kind of premium over regular models of the same year.
