That is why the the statement was "stationarily displayed on an area of the console screen." You still don't lose the rear image, just where you view it. Think about it.

That's beyond the scope of the question.
Then let me answer your question within scope: no, I do not use a mirror when walking, for the same reason I do not need insurance when walking: because walking and driving are fundamentally different.

I also don't walk holding an A-pillar blocking my view

Reminds me of the joke about the guy walking through the desert carrying a car door, so he could roll down the window if it got too hot

If rear camera can be stationary displayed on an area of the console screen would we need this?
I don't think it's needed, but not having experienced it my initial preference would be a digital rearview mirror where they're normally mounted which would also leave the screen available for other info. More than likely, it'll just be forming a new habit like looking towards the center for speed instead of at a traditional gauge cluster.

Sure, until you drive any other vehicle...

When I walk, I'm not hurtling along at 40+ mph surrounded by people going plus or minus that entire speed.

They are trying to keep it simple and costs down, we saw one at some point, looks like it didn't make the cut.

I can't tell but presuming the included traditional rear view mirror is attached with a magnet?

Also, you wouldn't want to road trip with the tonneau up, kills your range, just like a traditional pickup. I remember with one of my trucks to which I paid attention, it was 12.5 with no tonneau and 14+ with.
