buying an F150 has just made me drool over Cybertruck even more, and strangely nobody on the F150 forums seems to want to hear that. :)
I’m both very happy with my lightning and mostly over here on this CT forum - though I admit you’ll have an easier time here trashing the Lightning as you would there trashing the CT

regarding the headlamps:

I’ve always wondered but don’t know if these headlight issues may be an artifact of how Ford has the ADB software hobbled in its U.S. units.

I wonder if the folks who have jail-broken the ADB in Lightnings still have the issue you’re describing?

Speaking of, suddenly it’s been a year ago already that NHSTA supposedly blessed ADB in the U.S., but I haven’t noticed any big roll-out or certainly no Fire OTA update to enable the ADB in Lightning. Any idea what gives?

There are actually lots of wireless "backup" cameras for those towing an RV. If it's a very long RV, the camera will come with a "repeater" module that's mounted in the front of the RV, and it help send along the signal to the monitor that sits on the dash. Not sure what signal protocol it uses; probable not Bluetooth. So if Tesla made one specifically to use with the CT, that would be great! As I said, when the CT sensed that camera was in use, it could replace the image on the cab's rear-view "mirror" with the image from the wireless camera on the back of the RV. High tech in action!
I'm not convinced. It doesn't make sense for Tesla to invent their own wireless data transfer protocol, specifically handling encrypted HD+ Video while moving 60MPH+, when it's not really needed.

Do you really think the CT can drive fast enough to make it harder to send wireless signals the length of a trailer???

How freakin‘ fast do you drive?

And, you don’t think there is a suitable protocol for sending encrypted video <50 feet?

No wait, you said “I'm not convinced. It doesn't make sense for Tesla to…” So, that means you ARE convinced it DOES make sense for Tesla?

Dang I’m confused now…

wireless hdmi is pretty standard and common.

That aside, they can borrow protocols from spacex for wireless data transmission.

Technically the reflections of the signal can be a problem of a moving vehicle, as that would normally help signal strength.

How can the rear view (or lack there of) with tonneau cover closed be legal? If they can require a side mirror wouldn't there be a requirement that the windshield mirror vision be unobstructed?

Don't get me wrong I love not using it but really shocked that the internal rear view mirror is seen differently than the external side mirrors.
Think about all of the trucks out there that there is no way they could see out of a rearview mirror, and all of the U-Haul trucks and vans, all of the closed vans, etc. They have no choice but to rely on the sideview mirrors. A rearview camera/monitor would just be a bonus.

There's a rear camera, It's Tesla. No aftermarket garbage camera system will every be needed. Also has side mirrors.

Crissa reminded me that panel trucks and vans wouldn't be legal to build in an earlier post.

I've never been inside those commerical types but you can clearly see the rear doors are totally covered. So it's gotta be ok. I prefer cameras now.

That's why I added a camera to my Mazda. The entertainment system was set up for it but they didn't have them yet in 2013.

On my third MS and the rear camera sucks in Washington winters. Constantly blurry and many times unusable because of dirt and water/snow on the lens. Hopefully they have the rear airflow turbulence on the CT under better control. Looks like the rear camera is much higher from the road so I expect it to not be as much of a problem. Maybe not a problem at all.

I haven't had my Lightning thru a winter to see how well it handles this. I may have to ask about this on the Lightning forums.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

You should stop and wipe your windows, mirrors, and cameras when getting into your vehicle.

Growing up in Western Washington fog, I always keep a squeegie in the car to get the constant dew off the mirrors.

I don't get the complaints about the cameras. They're not going to be clean if you don't ever clean them. Are they running around with fogged up, dirty mirrors and side windows? How do they check their corners? Do they?

I do clean them but in the winter when it's raining everyday and the streets are full of water, it's impossible to keep them clean. They will be again covered literally in a half mile. Been like this for MS owners for years. Discussed on the tesla forum in the past. I've rarely had problems with any of the other cameras. Just the one above the license plate. Had similar issues with our Lexus.

In any case I just wonder if the higher location will make this less of a problem on a CT.

I only need to clean mine when it's been sitting still in the rain. Otherwise it washes itself sortof.

I think there's definitely some better or worse splash patterns but they'll change by speed and road surface.

Higher is definitely better.

But you should clean them when your start out a drive in inclement weather.
