I'll pay 50k cash today to move up on list.
One thousand is a joke. Still have to wait three months for delivery.

BREAKING:

Starting today, Cybertruck reservation holders will have to pay a $1,000 early access deposit to convert existing reservations into orders (once Tesla invites you to configure and order your Cybertruck).

It will be credited to your final purchase price upon delivery.

Lol good, stop wasting time. Either purchase the vehicle or step aside and wait for the non foundation versions like I will be doing. I figured they would want the full price to convert not just a $1000.

This is exactly what how many threads said Tesla should do.

I don't see any advantage over the $250 other than a shorter buyer list.

Buying a place in a line without any delivery date after you already bought a place is line is just greedy.

These orders are six months to a year out? What's the opportunity cost of $1000 when you can get a certificate of savings for 5% on that, let alone investing in a low point in the market...

bro, there are zero indications this will be sold outside the US for years to come

you should rest easy
I don't think zero is right. Elon told his legal team in Europe to prepare everything to sell the CT in Europe. And I had more than 1 US Truck from the US, that were never sold officially in Europe (Dodge Ram SRT10, Cadillac Escalade, Ford F150...). Once full production of Cts is on the way, Elon would surely not want to miss such an opportunity, numeros reservations being from Europe.

Excellent idea.

If fact, they should extend that to ANY reservation holder....except make it refundable.
It has been 4 years. Time to make a step towards finally commitment.
$1000 is not significant, if you are preparing to close on an $80,000 - $100,000 vehicle "soon".

If after 4 years someone is not prepared to put a small $1000 deposit down (Rivian has always required that amount), then maybe they don't intend to buy the Cybertruck ever. Just my 25 cents.

Does this $1000 mean they are going into the next phase — NORMAL BUYERS !!!?

Take my money!!!!!! ? ? ?
It would be very smart of them to start doing this for non-Foundation folks before the holidays. I know that if I were offered this in exchange for a concrete delivery date, I would do it immediately and then proceed to not shut up about it when visiting family over the holidays!

even on Elon time, they have said they won’t reach full production until sometime in 2025

for these and several other reasons, it would be unlikely to see CT’s outside North America until at least and with wild optimism 2026

which brings me back to my original post to you:

everything you currently know about the CT, or these deposits for Foundation units, is nothing you should be concerned about

That said: please provide info on this

Elon told his legal team in Europe to prepare everything to sell the CT in Europe.

well, the $100 is refundable......the $1,000 is not....a big disappoint with Tesla...320 mile range and an additional 16k for more.......service centers I dont think will be able to service or repair within a good timeframe and insurance with USAA is an additional $1800 on top of what I pay them now for a Model S and 3.....I'm saying goodbye Mr Musk....and for those of you who will say great that I am leaving, it's only gonna bump those after reservation 46,146.....the truck that was gonna be "affordable" for the average truck driver has turned into a rich man's toy....I am so tired of getting emails from Tesla asking me to move up by buying the Beast for 120,000 when I had thought I was going to be able to get e tri-motor for $69,000 and $8,000 for FSD.... nope no more CT forever increasing price for me...you rich boys can have my place in line...good luck.....hope nobody breaks down within the first 5,000 miles
Leave your reservation in there for a while longer. The price will come down, and you're locked in to really cheap FSD. If I were you, I would not cancel my reservation, until Tesla told me, to configure or cancel. Founder series will probably drop off by March. The price will come down ,as production ramp reaches certain milestones. It could be 2 to 4 years before the tri motor drops below the $79,999 threshold for BBB, but if you can leave you're reservation active that whole time, you'll get a great price on CT, and an outstanding price on FSD. FSD may even by no nag by then. You get all that potential for $100 that you haven't missed since 2019.

I think that is fairly standard when buying any Tesla, non refundable down payment that is later credited. Of course it was never called "Early Access Deposit...:

Yea, I have no intention of taking delivery at these prices, If they had a 500 mile version I may have pad the markup , but 320 is a Joke for 100k and I have no intentions of putting a battery in the bed. I wasn't going to cancel until my number comes up in hopes they can add another 10-15% in energy density to the 4680's which would at least bring the 2 motor truck up to 400 miles so for now I'll let the $100 ride for as long as it can.
