All Teslas have glass roofs. It’s tinted and UV-blocking.

but my M3 and MS dot have a football length window like the CT.....and just because it's tinted does not really matter...I have tinted glass and put #m tint on...What a difference in heat reduction...So for me, the heat is really bad without a 3rd party init job

Suddenly the CT doesn’t seem like the drastic innovation when you put it that way. The 48V battery is something which most users won’t easily notice the apparent benefit. Drive-by-wire is the most immediate benefit but only when driving it. The rest of the features are pretty standard for most work trucks.

The frunk is pretty lackluster compared to the Lightning’s frunk.

The omission of the middle seat is another disappointment.

Not having a behind the wheel display or HUD is another disappointing miss, especially given that there is no rearview mirror and the video feed from the rearview mirror will take screen real estate on the display. It would’ve been nice to have a behind the wheel display where the rearview camera and side camera feeds could display so the driver can maintain proper forward facing position and simply need to glance slightly down to see those.

My overall assessment is just as it has been for the last five years of what Tesla has been doing with each new platform - iterating new technologies that will ultimately allow the company to produce a true mass market EV. Hence the 48v low voltage system, the SS exterior (don't be surprised if this same material is used for the robotaxi/M2), steer by wire, ethernet CANBUS, structural 4680 battery pack, and the list goes on. Most of this doesn't really benefit the end customer much in so far as day to day use, it benefits the manufacturer by driving down COGS.

HUD would be a nice add - as doing so alleviates the need to have a physical dashboard of any kind - however small - and having it be programmable on some level would be a nice add. That wouldn't allow the cameras to be front and center though, toward your point.

For me personally, I used to tow/haul quite a bit more in the past than I do nowadays. I still drive a pickup because it's paid off and I don't drive much really (less than 7k miles per year now). I tow a boat a few times in the summer season, but only to nearby destinations to local waterways, and I tow a trailer occasionally when helping friends and family move. I haul a lot of yard refuse throughout the spring/fall season still, but all I need is a standard pickup bed for that, which the CT offers.

I was really hopeful we'd see more range even in the dual-motor model via some kind of better battery tech, and I honestly think that Tesla held out for quite some time hoping for this same outcome, given their battery day presentations had 4680's up in the 370wh/kg range by now - but that just hasn't come to fruition - not even close, hence they went to market now. The Limiting Factor is forecasting that kind of wh/kg sometime in 2025-2026 at this point, but I'm skeptical of even that at this point. The current 4680 Cybercell currently has 269wh/kg IIRC. So a 100wh/kg increase would be a big boost. That's about a 37.5% increase overall. What the overall pack rating would be would result in not quite that mount of increase - but let's figure 30% at the pack level. So 340*1.3=442 EPA rated miles. Not 500 miles still, but getting there, and at that point Tesla might be willing to add the extra batteries into the structural pack to actually deliver 500 miles of range. Perhaps CT v2 might get there best guess.

Longer diagonally, 7.2ft if the bed is 6x4. Anyone know how wide the interior of the cabin is?

Since we're talking about dimensions has anyone stood next to the bed side and measured it near the wheel well and at the back of the cab? The FUD crowd keeps crying about how you can't side load anything into the bed but it seems to me that only maybe the last foot near the back of the cab would be higher than normal, not even counting the ability of the truck to squat. I'd like some real numbers to hit them with.

man is that glass roof is gonna let in a very hot sun in the hot summer......A/C gonna be on all the time......just watch that Wh/mile go up and up.....wow, 320 mile range at 80% is gonna make a lot of people everyday chargers, either at home or waiting in line at the newly opened up for all, superchargers......

Put sun shade. All Tesla's need sun shade.

What does a Canadian know about heat? 90F + days you can feel the heat radiating down from the glass roof, if I spent more time in that type of weather I'd get a reflective insulated insert for it.

No issues creeping through slow moving traffic in 115F temps

Very interested in those specs, is that estimated based on person size or someone actually put a tape measure to it. Any clue what the rear floor width is from inside or passenger side to inside of drivers side, aka width of rear floor?
