This was one thing I had hoped would not carry over from the other models. I wonder if there is a way to over ride it temporarily? The reason being is I've been in situations off road in mud when high tire speed in reverse kept me from being stuck in a hole or mud pit. I know it's a limitation of the gear driven oil pump in the gear case but a short duration over ride shouldn't cause any issues IMO.

Clicked on this to see what kind of crazy person would want/need more than 15pmh in reverse other than John Wick, but had not thought of offroad.
Any idea if it is still there in the offroad settings like Baja etc?

Same here as well, I think this use case is valid and I’m not sure anyone has tried reverse at speed in off-road modes?

That's another feature Tesla would need to allow overrides for (along with top speeds) if they expect to sell CyberTrucks to police agencies. When chasing suspects on foot, police use high speed (~30 mph?) in reverse A LOT!!! Think narrow alleyways and parking lots.

These folks might want extra speed in reverse at times... ?

Driving a RWD car fast, in reverse, is difficult, I wonder if the 4WS makes it any easier.

Just like that Rimac, I don’t know how you ‘steer’ when going 200+ MPH in reverse. I’ve had literal nightmares just like that video!!

I'm pretty sure it's a "speed" limit and NOT the rotation speed of the tire.

As in, how fast the vehicle is moving over the terrain.
Except that the limit is in place to keep the gears from turning at high speeds because the gear driven oil pump doesn't work in reverse. Vehicle speed doesn't really matter if that is the case, it's the wheel speed. Plus I assume Tesla measures vehicle speed by wheel speed not GPS. Certainly wheel slip and traction control is done with wheel speed not vehicle speed.

Not trying to argue, but trying to think it through logically for my brain.

I am not the best in math, but 15mph equates to about 114RPM on a 35 inch tire..so it seems that speed limit is sufficient. The faster the wheel spins in mud, the less traction. You can spin your tire all day long at 100mph but will still be stuck in the mud hole.

Not exactly, high powered mud boggers fly through mud because they have the torque and tire speed to fling enough mud with the tires to generate thrust, same thing applies to a truck stuck in mud with good off road tires.
