It was on the stainless, hood and driver's door. When I picked it up it was still pretty dirty and I figured it was built around 1/24/24 right around the big storm they had at the Gigi Texas. I think the scratches are coming from when the delivery center is prepping the CT for delivery. They're sanding/polishing the CT and not doing a very good job. I can see an opportunity for the detailing shops to correct the problems that the delivery center is making. Sand/polishing marks we're not uniform. Attached is a copy of the scratch on the hood.

In that light that looks pretty bad, but sometimes little stuff can really show at the right angle. Can you feel that scratch with your fingernail or is it super shallow?

I will try Barkeepers Friend + Windex tomorrow and see if it works.
Yes, I'm pretty certain BKF and Windex will make it look like it's supposed to. Maybe even just Windex alone. But if not, just take an orbital sander to the rest of the panels and make it match.

Seriously though, looks to me like that truck needs to go to a buyer that want's to wrap it with PPF. It's not going to ever look uniform and like it's supposed to, unless you sand (scratch up) the rest of it to match.

It's a pretty light scratch. Should be pretty easy to get out, but will take some elbow grease.

I dropped off my CT at the service center today to have them fix the scratches and dripping stains all over the CT. I figured I had to take CT in for some other issues, so might as well get them fixed to fix the scratches. The plastic piece at the top of the tailgate was loose on the driver's side and one of the subwoofer sounded blown. The service center told me they would most likely redo the finish on the CT as it was pretty bad. I was told it would only take a couple of days. I am figuring if parts are needed I'll have to come back to have them installed on a future day.

Good luck! I'm interested in how the scratches buff out. Glad they are addressing the issues for you.

I would have to say I am pretty pleased with Tesla's service. They got me in quickly and will address all my issues. Plus they gave me a Model S Plain as a loaner. My guess is they're going to redo the pre-delivery process. Which I think is a 6 or 7 stage sanding process, but I could be wrong.

Interested to see the before/after shots if you happen to take them and don't mind sharing?
Glad they are getting the issues taken care of.

I got word from the service center today. They initially told me it would be done today, but they're having difficulty getting all the stains out. My CT was completely covered with a drip-like stain. This is how it was delivered, which I think is terrible. I was able to use BKF to remove a lot of the stains from the hood, but I would have to go over it a couple of times.

Unfortunately Tesla doesn't put a protective plastic film on the flat panel surfaces at the end of the assembly line like virtually every other automaker. A simple film covering the frunk surfaces would eliminate the staining issue.

Audi goes above and beyond by using a reusable car cover during transportation to the dealer.

Update: I just got a call from the service center and was told all issues have been resolved except the scratches and stains. Specifically, I was told they can't seem to get out the stains and this was the second CT they have seen like this. Tesla is now sending my CT to a body shop to be fixed. I guess this is what they did for the first one. Tesla does not know what caused the stains but it was all over the CT. I guess my CT is going to be refinished. Lucky me!! Out of the 10 days I have owned the CT, I have only had it for 2 full days. My pick-up date has now been pushed another 7 days.

I kinda like the oxidized patina look too, though.
lol this dude has an archetype in these forums. so many people say the same stuff: *cybertruck has cracked windshield and torn seats* Their response: "yea nbd, it gives the truck awesome vintage personality and its going to happen anyway. Obviously you're not a car guy Stop complaining."

Sucks that happened bro. Unacceptable. Hope Tesla cleans it up asap so you can enjoy the new toy.

Lmao, I see the same thing on the jeep forums. Literally broken down on the side of the road with holes in the transmission case. "It's a jeep thing"

I could probably live with some scratches, but a blown subwoofer!??! Hellllll nah!

I am glad your SC is trying to make things right.
