I'm just going to add some data.

I have a 240v on a 50amp breaker. Best I get is about 18miles/hr at a limit of 32A.

I didn't realize 32A was the max the CT can take?
32A is the max the mobile charger can provide. CT can take 48A from a wall charger with a 60A breaker. 40A from a 50A breaker.

What size wire would you need for 48A/
breaker?
*not an electrician*

It depends on the length of your run, and many other factors, but approximately:

Length of runWire Gauge
0-30ft8AWG
30-50ft6AWG
50-80ft4AWG
80-100ft3AWG

Where did you get that table?

I've never seen wire size increase that quickly with relatively short distances. I believe a 6AWG wire would be good for a 100 foot run at 48 amps.

I did it myself with a calculator. If you are good with more voltage drop it would be fine to go longer. I thought I hit 5% but I may have hit 1%.

I charge my MS at 40A on a 50A breaker. Can I assume the same with my CT?

Meaning I should use my old MS mobile connector?
If it's in good condition electrically, and the outlet you plug it into is kosher (many are not), it should work fine. But a hardwired Wall Connector is always better.

I’m using my old mobile charger and it charges at 40amps. It’s a better quality charger than the new ones and has thicker cables.

I read somewhere that the first gen mobile chargers don’t work on newer vehicles including the cybertruck? I wanted to look for one till I read that.

I use the Mobile Charger which was included with my 2020 ModelY..

first 4 months simply via 110V and now 220V installed.

no issues at all.. works great.
