Tonneau cover issue on my Cybertruck too

Just picked up my Truck. During the delivery, noticed that tonneau cover is not working. When I told Tesla staff, first thing came out of their mouth was "you must have open and closed it too many times, causing it to over heat. " I politely informed them that, I just got here and tried it once. They tried it and found out that tonneau was binding up at last 12 inches of travel. They just told me to set up a service appointment to get it fixed.
It was very disappointing experience.?

According to Kyle with out of spec if you open and close it more than 3 times in a short period of time it will do that.
How was the rest of the truck/delivery?

Guarantee they didn't, as most people wouldn't. but i would be putting up a huge stink with the service manager and demand it be fixed immediatly.

Brutal. Been praying everyday since I pick mine up this week. Pretty much have come to the realization that something is going to be wrong. Just a matter of what is it going to be. Officially mentally prepared….smh

yea you just hope it is something minor, I am hoping for a bunch of panel gaps on mine that I really don't care about and get spared from the error messages, steering issues, or cover problems.
Tesla will get a handle on it as it is more expensive to fix all of this stuff after the fact, just a matter of how long it takes, hoping by the time they hit 50k vehicles it is all smooth sailing.

Tesla service been disappointing for very long time...
I have waited for Cybertruck for so long, decided to pickup the truck and deal with it later.
I don’t blame you. At least you have the truck. It’ll eventually get fixed but very disappointing. I can’t fathom a reason why they didn’t fix it right then.

Why? They booked it for service.

THOSE customers ? you mean the customer who expects a working vehicle without major issues which should have been caught in advance and lives over an hour away ? Damn right I am. My situation has nothing to do with any other customer taking delivery. if its broken and wasnt caught in advance then thats on tesla service, not on me buddy.

Or how about a customer that expects to not be accused of improper use by a sales person who has zero clue how anything is supposed to work? Tesla really needs to reign in this "everything is the customer's fault" attitude that they have if they want to succeed long term.

The customer is always wrong

Rather than engaging with trolls, it's better to ignore them. Regards to truck, after waiting over 4yrs and Elon claiming micron accuracy, it was very disappointing...
Totally agree. This is not some dollar store toy that is “within tolerance” it’s a $100k vehicle that is brand new. I wouldn’t buy a shirt from Macys off the rack with a hole in it and say to myself, “it’s only an inch big, that’s within tolerance from the factory.”
