Strength in numbers seems to be the case. Here in northern Idaho it is a CT desert. I only see one once a week if that.

I recently attended a work gathering, where many former teammates were invited. I was asked about my truck, and someone I hadn't seen in 10 years went on a full-tilt rant about it:

"they're not just ugly, they're an eyesore; not just the ugliest truck ever, but the ugliest thing ever created by human hands; the mere sight of one induces vomiting; children playing nearby will gash open their skulls; no pedestrian is safe at any speed; they're useless as a truck or even a vehicle; and only egotistical small-minded assholes with a tiny penis would even buy one."

"Ok, ummm, great... So, how have you been?"

I had a teen boy at my local gym leave a note on my window that said "Go FĂ—Ă—k Yourself". I also get about two middle fingers a day. This is all recently.

Central Colorado here. Yes, it has died down. Very few thumbs down now, no more middle fingers. Most younger people are interested and want to learn more. Happy to oblige. One young boy I let in the drivers seat, went right to the fart screen and had a great time. He learned it on Youtube. Yes, it is better now. Mac

I travel to different homeowners every day for work using my CT. Most are positive or indifferent.
I had 1 out of maybe 200 that did not want any sight of the truck near their home (mostly as to how their neighbors would perceive them). DFW suburbs and surrounding counties.

Kids playing nearby will rush over too see it! is more like it.
Some of my most endearing encounters are from kids.
I live ~20 miles due east of San Francisco and a few months ago was getting the finger occasionally which made me laugh every time. My usual comment to myself was "get a life". If you want to waste your time and energy be my guest.

You know how some folks can rant away at "other" people but are really speaking about themselves. The last part of the overrun sentence (after the last semicolon) says it all :)

OK, here has been my experiences driving my CT from Houston to NJ and then to Maine and back to NJ during the last two months (July and Aug 2025. I have had my truck since August 24, 2024. While in Houston area I personally never had any negative reactions about the truck. While cruising the Interstates kids would be hanging out the windows waving like crazy. I toot the horn at them and they go crazy smiling and waving wildly. Once I hit the MD Del border there were two incidents of being cut off, one coal roll and at a traffic light some SOB (Son of Biden?) flipped something from his driver side window over his car and We heard a thunk inside the car. He took off when I showed him a picture of my firearm. Next came NJ, we are staying at my S-I-L’s house in Barnegat. While traveling around locally, when I drove thru an Area in Stafford, NJ, we heard something hit the truck. When we finally stopped to charge up, I looked around the truck and on the tailgate were splotches of something brown (mud, dirty sand, excrement?) on the truck. It all washed off and there were no marks, dents, or damage. Kids for the most part love the truck, BUT there has to be an exception. On Long Beach Island at the Beach Haven town Center I was stopped at a light and notice a mother and 13ish child walking towards my CT. The kid was giving thumbs down, booing, giving horns with his hands and mouthing something. His mother was laugh so hard. When they came to the curb, I rolled down my window and asked his mother if that is what she taught her child? She just grabbed his hand and yanked him away and walked down the street tugging him and pulling him until the light changed and I drove away.
We continued our journey up to Maine. From NJ to Maine on the interstates no bad reactions from anyone. Maine, for some reason I was expecting trouble. Yes, we were asked many questions and lots of people waved, thumbs up, etc. Not a single bird. On the way back to NJ I dared to drive thru the city from the Bronx to the Lincoln Tunnel. Not a single bad actor. So it appears some of the hate is gone but not all.
IMHO, If you want one get it, to quote JPJ “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!” For me the CT is the closest thing to flying a plane, but never leaving the ground.

My mom used to say, “jealousy makes you ugly”.
I think that’s mostly what is left now.

Since my Cybertruck was wrapped with satin-finish grey-color PPF, it attracted much less unnecessary attention.ms.

Most drivers on the road just passed by without even had a look.

It is not so open. The hate and anxieties are probably still there, but people get used to things and the open cover of the crowd for genuine anti-social behavior has been rolled back. Open hatred isn’t a good look long term. Only a few outliers on both sides haven’t or won’t get the memo because they are somewhat anti-social anyway. They are once again becoming easy to recognize and dismiss. I’m genuinely relieved. That was a stretch of choppy water.

It really wasn't that bad unless you lived in California, North West Washington, Oregon, or some parts of the east coast.
I've never seen a damaged truck in this bit of deep blue.

You might get ignored more than anything.
