Update: My order is on hold at the moment as the General Manager is trying to locate a new CT AWD with white interior/cyber wheels (free on a lease). I have also emailed corporate with my experience and the photos of the truck at delivery.

Here is the backstory, I was attempting to purchase a 2025 CT while the $7500 lease incentive was in place because Tesla is buying back my current 2024 CT that has a GPS drift issue where the truck looses it's location during Navigation + FSD and does a lot of unexpected unsafe crap (missed highway off-ramps, many random lane changes, turning the wrong way down one way streets, left turn signal activation while in the fast lane of a highway, rerouting me to get back on the highway I am physically already on every 30-45 seconds). Tesla has been unable to fix in 5 visits, will not replace the computer (where I believe the issue is), and it has been in service well over 30 days in 10 months.

To be honest, I am about done with Tesla and close to becoming a non-consumer of Tesla products. So, if you had a CT being bought back and wanted another truck to replace it, what would you buy? I am interested to hear what other CT owners/fans think.

PSA: here is the VIN, buyer beware: 7G2CEHED9SA058972
If you are serious, no replacement is going to fix those issues with FSD. They are known and common. It's part of helping Tesla develop the product.

I doubt anything is actually wrong with your CT.

Look. I know you’re pissed, but what happened to you likely happened because of some near minimum wage turd screwing up, not Tesla as a whole. I feel like whether they make this right or not, choosing a different car is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Just being honest.
I agree, I am waiting to see what happens.

I think what will happen is they will find a you a different truck and give you some BS excuse as to what happened and you in turn will still take the deal and you will go your separate ways and then you will love the shit out of your new Cybertruck.

Traditional dealerships have badly set consumer expectations for a direct-sales model.

Dealerships are essentially professional detailers. It's critical to their sales model, because the buyer could walk out anytime, and they certainly don't want to give you any negotiating leverage.

Tesla just hands you the keys. Truck is dirty at delivery? So what?? It's a vehicle, not a collectable action figure that loses value if you take it out of the box. I can take it home and wash it myself. I'd prefer that, actually lol.

Of course, Tesla could just hire a bunch of full-time detailers at their delivery centers, but that would add a couple hundred bucks to each vehicle. I'd rather keep my money.

This demo vehicle is different, though. It wasn't just lack of detailing on a factory-fresh model, this truck was potentially abused, and the dirt/damage needed to be addressed.

if you didn't buy/pay anything why do we need to hear & see it? :p ;)
Uuhhm…as a cautionary tale for the rest of us?!? I’ve been perusing the Demo inventory trucks too, could’ve easily had this happen to me. And the OPs target truck is still in inventory, ready for another victim!!

Beware of VIN 58972!!!

CT is now in the 80k VIN range so it gives an idea of how old the truck is.

You guys ever watch these extreme detailing YouTube videos? My 7 year old likes them and I’m getting kind of hooked too.
Oddly satisfying.

Some of them actually have a happy ending

you don't seem to understand the big picture here-it's not only end of the 3rd qrt but also the end of fed $7500 EV tax credit. Why would Tesla sales associates take so much attention on a single vehicle, a demo one. Why do we need to hear everything in life that really doesn't really matter b/c nothing serious happened here.

You’re not required to hear anything. Click on another thread. That’s actually the big picture.

I am sorry I inconvenienced anyone’s eyes, feelings or sensibilities. How dare I post up a thread about an abused CT Tesla tried to sell me and then tattle tale on them. I am clearly in the wrong here.

They weren’t able to figure anything out today, bunch of monkeys throughout the entirety of the food chain. I am just waiting on them to cancel my order from their side. Once the buyback on my 2024 CT completes, I will not buy another CT at this point. That’s how I feel today anyway.

You are correct sir, that truck is back online waiting to dump some dried mud clumps on the next buyers foot.

This sucks and is unacceptable.. but stick with getting another Cybertruck. Trust me, it’s worth it. Such a phenomenal vehicle.

I truly hope someone at Tesla reads these forums because they could’ve had a sale if they cared enough to detail the truck.
