What charging port is in the center console? Also, how does the wireless charger work? I have an older iPhone not even sure if it will charge. Is there still any issue about the phone heating up?

Wired is USB-C. Wireless charging works fine but some people report issues depending on case installed on the phone or phone model. My iPhone 17 seems warm when I remove it but it really hasn't complained about overheating or not able to charge due to temperature.

Thanks for the response. Looks like I’m gonna go with the charger that’s mounted next to the screen.

Not all created equal. My favorite is the magbak especially if you use the case too.The others I’ve liked have been the Jowua.

And RPM TSLA makes a pretty good value low profile one.

I’ve only tried the hideaway version.
What do you guys do with your phones mounted next to the screen anyway? Is there some use to it other than charging? I always leave mine upside down in the wireless charger in the truck and plug it in w the usb cable.

There was talk of this in another thread.
In “theory” you could mount it next to the screen in your eyes field of view like you’re “looking at the road” but the screen and whatever “happens to be on it” is visible. So if big brother is watching you, it “looks like you’re driving and paying attention to the road.”
Of course this is purely hypothetical and should not be done, especially on long, boring roadtrips with a lot of highway driving. 😜

That's what I figured people use it for, wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on something cool. I don't really text and drive unless it's something very important that can't wait.

Oh no no. That’s a big no no for me. I was referring to “watching” and not interacting. That way my eyes are catching everything in the periphery and I can react if need be. Again, hypothetically.

Me too, I've known a few people that died from that so I don't mess with texting and driving. So you mean like streaming a movie "watching" and driving - I probably wouldn't do that either.
